W210 Door rust
I'm a newby to MB and my 2001 E55. Just purchasednmy E55 which is basically an immaculate car with only 50k miles. Absolutely love the car but found disappointing thing being rust. Doubt many have looked but under the door seal of the front passenger door, was surprised to find rust. Also beginning to see early signs on the right rear door as well next to the rubber seal. Rest of the car is perfect so made me begin searching online for design flaws. Also searched the VMI and found a line item called 2005 door preserve. Turns out that this was done on my car at 33k.

Would love to hear what you experts know about this as well as any positive or negative experiences with the dealerships? Any suggestions on how best and cheapest to get this fixed?

Door Rust
I had the same problem. Removed the rubber seals, used wire wheel on a drill to remove most of the rust, applied naval jelly, cleaned and painted with black rustoleum enamel. No more problems.
This car is noted for rust in certain locations. Remove your front grill, you will probably find rust behind it as well, same fix as above.
