Kind of off topic...Must be nice to have a shop with all the toys....I mean...tools that comes with it. I could do wonders with my car if I have a facility like that....all my work is done with jackstands outside my garage pending weather permit and summer bugs

I don't have my car track but did it on a straight stretch of 3 lane highway...estimate to be a quarter mile....(with no cars around) I hit 130mph yesterday. i would have kept the pedal down and the beast would have kept going but hit traffic...

I'm guessing in the high 13 to low 14 second range. My 99 SL500 did 14.9 at 90mph up here at 5000 foot elevation. Just my uneducated guess. I'll find out though!

Thanks It makes for some nice working conditions. I'll take some pictures of my shop tomorrow when I'm detailing the 55. I've got quite a few toys in here besides the cars. Oddly enough, I do wind up using jack stands more often than not because I'll have both racks tied up with other project cars that have been immobilized.

+1 they are about 13.5 to 13.8 depend on tires and mod. I am sure this thing can be super fast with Kleemann SC kit, W210 is about 300Lbs lighter than W211 but again, who will invest $10K to mod this car today since the car worth $10K.

Used SC kit $6K
Header $1200
Tune $600
Labor $2k

Superchargers have no appeal to me. I have a supercharger on my now M3 E36 race car, and I just have no love for it. Part of the reason why I bought the W210 over a 211. The nail in the coffin with the 211 though was by far the Airmatic.

If I am nuts about making my 55 a complete rocketship, then I will send my extra M120 off to have it built to 7.3 or 7.4 liters. For now though, the RENNtech airbox, Kleeman cams/ecu/exhaust, Stoptech BBK, etc will make the car plenty of fun.

Nice to hear the car is in the mid 13's in the quarter. That should be enough fun for the time being anyway.

The BMW is one of my race cars. It started off as a 1993 325is that I used as a DD for about six months. It has been gutted, caged, supercharged to 460whp. I got fed up with such little HP in a hurry, so I just put in a 3.2L E36 M3 (S52) with a bigger supercharger. I have a Drenth 6-speed sequential gearbox to run with the S52. My goal is to make a reliable 550-600hp on 110 leaded. It's also been fully paneled underneath mating with a front splitter and rear diffuser. All the mounts/bushings/etc are solid aluminum, AST 4300s, Stoptechs, the list would go on for quite a while.

Just got the 55 all washed up for the detailing spree. The front bumper will need repaint before next summer due to a few rock chips and a couple small scrapes underneath. Other than that there is one door ding and a chip on the lower part of the rear quarter panel. Overall the paint is great! I am impressed somebody actually seems to have taken care of this car. That's quite a shock considering it's a New Jersey car.

Time for pics:

That's one great project car. Any videos (Sorry for going off topic) but that's impressive goal to push 550-600hp. What's your goal for the qtr mile?

No problem! All of my threads tend to become a mashup of my various projects It's actually for roadracing not drag. I have a couple videos back when it was a 2.5L:

Started the waxing process. I ran over the whole car with Swissvax's Paint Rubber prior to the wax. There weren't many swirl marks, so I decided not to buff it until after this next winter. I also am running over the interior with Swissvax leather cleaner/conditioner and the wood with Pledge. The Swissvax leather conditioner leaves the leather fairly "greasy" looking until you go buff it with a dry microfiber. After that you are left with new looking leather. Not the dripping wet ugly look like you get from so many products. For wax, I am using Zymol's Vintage Glaze. This is my first car using it on, and so far I am very pleased. It's hard to see in the pictures, but it adds depth to the paint. It makes the paint's reflective qualities more pronounced than other wax's. Do I love it so much I would recommend it? Not unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket. Zymol Atlantique or Concours will do 9/10 of the Vintage for a fraction of the cost. Here are some teaser shots--more when I'm done.

All done with stage one! Finished the first coat of Zymol, the interior, and claybar'd the entire car up and down in and out minus the windows--I have a more abrasive claybar coming for them. I have to let it sit overnight, then leave it in the sun for a while tomorrow (for the oils in the wax to blend together), and wash it before I am all done. Long process, but it pays off in the end.

Pictures for now though--they do no justice for what it looks like in person.

Doesn't look like a near 100k mile car anymore does it?

Thanks!

I have changed out the CPS, cam position sensor, fuel pump. All that's left is the brake master cylinder. I did a couple 150kph runs up and down my street, but the brakes never build up pressure. Even after bleeding many times, no improvement. Must be something fishy with the master cylinder. I have checked everything else. Car pulls good, car pulls very good. It's only slightly slower than my RENNtech S74, and is much more fun to drive seeing as the E55 weighs only 1700kg compared to 2400kg. Need I mention I have a feeling the four less cylinders will be much easier on the pocket book maintenance wise?

I just corner balanced the car. It is 1676kg with 3/4 tank of fuel.

Got the brake master cylinder and the booster pulled out. Worldpac will deliver the booster on Monday. I decided to replace both as the brakes failed to gain acceptable pressure after bleeding many times.

Aren't they OEM? What do your pedals look like? If my pedal covers are aftermarket, I would assume they would fit yours. They tend to be pretty generic. Fitting them is a little bit of a pain--not hard, just time consuming. Takes about a half hour.

Cheers,
Ricky

Huh, well I am glad that somebody else put them on mine! Not one of my favorite jobs, albeit easy as pie.

They make a couple styes:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BENZ-W124-w2...#ht_3760wt_938

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Foot-AT-Peda...ht_7081wt_1405

I think the top listing, like mine, fits better because you don't have to drill on the parking brake pedal. Just pop off the old and pop on the new.

I put style 2 (rubber dots) on my car. One of my favorite mods. The pedals look great, but more importantly when you press down the gas pedal - it feels solid - no loss of energy - pedal goes straight to the floor.

I'd like an update on how this goes. I think I might want to do the same. How much were the parts?
