One in Sweden!
Hi guys, i used to drive a 1998 E55 but I am currently repairing it. I think the cam timing is off so I figured I would post some information about it here for future reference. Great car (when it runs)!

E 55 AMG 2006 B-Silver
Hello guys,
New member to the forum and looking to bring it back alive after my E55 Transformation pending saving for Weistec upgrade to 850 HP. Currently no mechanical modifications..
First: things first, mayor tune up and suspension upgrade and a color dip maybe silver or orange... any suggestions?
Second: Upgraded RIMS but getting my stock AMG rims redone.
Third: Resonator delete?
4th: Headers?
5th: Upgrade Sound and Lights(which I just ordered thru Mike @Rhinetrade in Santa Ana, specially with parts and maintenance! (Thanks Mike!,... if you ever see this).
6th: Save for Weistec Upgrade:
M113K Supercharger Tuner System
722.6 Bulletproof Transmission
Supercharger Crank Pulley
ECU Calibration
ExhaustCNC Ported Heads
Supercharger Cooling
Forged Pistons
CNC Ported Heads
Head Studs/ROD Bolts
Engine Timing Set and the list goes on.....
Side note: My first car was a 69 mustang, 302 w/the 70 front-end conversion, second car red Gio- which was great on gas and made a porsche look bad with my stick shifting skills in Hemet back in 1997...Anyways third card 1964 t-bird 429 cobra yet! Loved it!!!! I love muscle but I like AC and MP3 now so the AMG fills my need for muscle but lacks the sound from my stang and tbirtd; therefore the need for upgrades.....
HMU or reply..

Those fenders are an eye gluer....

Got the car back today. The car she's tip top. 75K. Blessed by ace Merc tek. Venice, CA. Flushed the trans. The car flies. 75K. Flush produced an Epiphany of speed. Never fails. 75K. The car's a bullet. The car moves out.
The only issue. A leaky solenoid. A leaky solenoid on the power steering. Its part of the rack. Said system purports to adjust steering stiffness with speed. Easy when tooling, stiffer when the car moves out. Big bucks to replace. It's part of the rack. Big bucks. Left it alone to whine softly to itself like a sleepy, ungrateful child. Looking for a solution. Anyone want to be my new best friend?

Hi everyone just joined the forum. I had a 2002 e55 for a year then sold it and got a new 2015 e350 through the master lease program from working at a mbz dealer back in 2015. But just picked up another 2002 e55 with low mileage and loving it!

Searched long and hard for a pre-facelift here in Australia with the options I wanted
. Finally found this. Wheels are forged for the tarmac rally it's going to do later this year. Originals getting refurbished. Quaife diff and brake upgrade only so far.

Makes a massive difference going from an open diff to the LSD. So much quicker off the line with much more traction. Then the traction control stops fighting the open diff and gives you more power down to the road. And with it off, it's much more fun. Get one and enjoy.

I was daily driving mine until Feb 2017. Had 206k on the clock and was still strong. Not strong enough to not be totaled when I got blasted in the back by a distracted Nissan Leaf driver at about 40mph.
Car was declared a total loss. I'm still sad about it. Haven;t even bought a new one yet...

Damn, that sucks. Still driving in my 01. Great time when I get to open up the throttle. Just need to find a front wheel. I currently have 3 rear and 1 front. Bought it that way without knowing.

Just picking up an 02. One owner car from 0 to 140k miles, second owner personally knew the owner and he passed away so he bought it. He only owned the car About a year ands half and put on roughly another 19k miles. 54 plus service records on the carfax and the seller literally had every single actual maint and repair receipt, and everything that the car came with new including the window sticker. It's been exclusively dealer maintained and the previous owner continued that, as he works at the dealership where he original owner was using.
Feeling very lucky. Will be inspecting it, adding a nice exhaust and a few other things to
maintain the oem+ Feel and then Rallying it from Chicago to Nashville. Will create a seperate thread once we get it up on a lift.
Thanks in advance for the warm welcome!

That's awesome to have the records. Mine supposedly did but the dealer tossed them before I arrived, then claimed they didn't know what I was talking about. Pathetic! Harder and more expensive to diagnose not knowing what has been replaced yet.

Should have the car on a truck and transit by week of May 1st. We have always had a fascination with the w210 e55,we used to have a w211 in the family, but candidly it was a fun car but a little soft and lacked some soul.
We are coming from a e60 M5, and a handful of c6 s6 v10s, and v8 porsches. look fwd to getting in this beast! We have a soft heart for big NA motors especially circa 2008 and prior as I see that as the sweet spot for tech and still maintaining soul. A nice balance from our perspective.
If anyone is interested in following the progress, I will post a thread in this forum and you can also
follow the hashtag of #4dreuromuscle on instagram @

I had a few e30's and an e46 m3. Also drove several friends e39 m5's. Honestly, the prices of m5's is the reason I don't own one. The e55 was cheaper, I personally just like a manual and LSD. The m5 is more predictable as a drivers car that you can toss around and know the car. The e55 is a monster on the highway, smooth, linear, and comfortable. It handles well but when you throw it through twisters or want to drive like you stole it it's not quite the same. That said, I don't regret getting one, just a different experience, but a good one.
