Joined this section about a year ago and loving my '02 E55... First ever used car bought with mileage over 30,000.. It had about 66,000 miles but it was practically a single owner southern car so couldn't pass it on. Just had it serviced with all new fluids/plugs/front brakes/bearing service and with new shoes... Loving every minute driving it.

Damn! How many miles do you have on her, and how would you rate the handling/ride/motor today in comparison with when you first got it?
My '01 has 199k and I can't imagine the motor running any better when new - maybe slightly louder from wear... It seems that if maintained, these things keep the near-new feeling basically for ever.

It's got around 220k miles. I set it aside for a while when I got my GL and that was a daily for many years. I drove the GL to around 200k miles before giving to my wife. Had other cars in between, CL & SL, but around January I started using it again as a commuter since I was traveling more and needed something fuel efficient and comfortable. The car handles as good now as it was when new. Replaced all the suspension bits, had a 4 wheel alignment done around 20k miles ago, swapped out the tranny for a low mileage one, and had the leather redyed. Of course, had the valve covers resealed and all the rubber breather parts changed to fresh ones. Changed the oil cooler and replaced a oil pressure test port seal. The car runs as good as new. Still drives beautifully and eats up the highway. The car is comfortable and quick. Sure does feel light compared to my SL and the E rides much better too. I see no reason why the E can't go for another 200k miles without worry.

Kyle210 can't believe you have RE71s on a w210 E55 - that's awesome. I only use those on my autox car.

Just got one
I saw a video two weeks ago of one of Jay Leno’s guys washing Jay’s silver 210 E55. Just for fun I looked at auto trader and punched in E55. I saw the exact same car at a car lot about 30 miles from me. The next day I went out there and traded my 2002 CLK320 Cab for it. It has 94k and a solid 8.5 out of 10. My first AMG. Just put continental control contact sports on it. Can’t believe how fast it is, couldn’t be happier. Took it up Sugarloaf Road near Boulder, Colorado. Am I the only one in Colorado with one???

Daily, uhm.. weekly driver. I finally had enough of restoring my 928s4 so time to catch up on some E55 maintenance. Valve covers, wheel alignment bumper scratches. I wish the 928 engine was as smooth and willing as the E55.
Hold the phone!!
There's is very cheap ( $7000) red 04 E55 wagon for sale calling me.
Oh dear....

Still have mine sitting around. Its only racked up like 4-5k miles in the last year. 187k now and the engine/ transmission are as smooth as ever. I've missed driving it more often.

My 1999 E55 was saved from going into junk yard. Bought right on spot, it was all beaten up, salvage title, missing parts an etc. Almost 3 years later I have only paint work needed left, other than that its perfect! I love it.
I know that only 500 were imported to US in 1999, Im just curios if theres way to know how many left?

There is no way that figure is correct. I've probably seen close to 50 of them in Washington State and Oregon alone.
