It's officially mine. Picked up my E55 yesterday, drove into the US to get wheels and tires, drove halfway home, came the rest of the way today. Except for a few minor issues regarding how to figure out the heater controls, everything went like glass. Oh, except I found out one important item that I cannot ignore. I have to re-learn how to drive. I now see why you all love these cars. There is so much to praise, but you all know this. So much technology that must have been cutting edge in it's day, and yet is still so relevant today. We drove through some of the ****tiest weather and road conditions, and not once were we concerned about it. Not one other vehicle on the road could keep up to us, and that is not to say that we were speeding like maniacs, just driving to road conditions and the E outperformed them all. I can hardly wait for summer and my driving lessons. See you all on the highway!

I been driving mine everyday and i love it. Cant complain about gas mileage especially now with gas prices so low haha you just cant beat the power and comfort level on these. It will continue to be my dd up until i can get my 87 turbo ranger up and running again mostly because i dont want to run up the mileage on the benz. Its nearing 97k now.

Since 2010
Purchased mine, 2000 model, black, on eBay in 2010, 116k on the odometer. Car was in Ohio - one way ticket, picked it up, drove it back to VA. Now have 154,xxx miles on it and it is my daily driver/only car (also ride a 1996 Kawasaki ZX9R). I do most of my own work and all of my maintenance. The only major issue so far was the shift module that went out at 134k (previous owner spilled coffee on it?) - luckily that happened at home and I replaced it within 3 days with a new one ($475). Another issue that I spent time on were rust spots - the W210s are notorious for this, some are affected, some are not. That the car was in the Midwest and driven through various winters likely did not help (it does do well with winter tires though; have separate 17 inch monoblock AMG wheels with Blizzaks). Fun car that does require regular maintenance and is actually pretty easy on your wallet if you can handle at least basic stuff.

S210 E430 -5.5 + S211 E280 + 190E
I've got a 2001 Station Wagon, E430 with an E55 engine.
Installed in Spring 2014.
I own the car since 2006, drove it one winter, ever since only
during summer, when it's not raining!
The difference from 4.3 to 5.5 is still hard to believe, ...
Looking forward to April first, then she will be back on the road again!
greetings from Germany!

Nice! I don't think there was an AMG wagon, at least in the US, for the W210 series. You have any pictures? What wheels did you put on the car? I think the wagon is the best of all worlds. Sadly, the E55 (again, in the US) did not come with a split rear seat, even as an option. There were a few occasions when I could have used that (model airplanes ).

Snow
I did exactly that last week after it snowed 4 inches... with winter tires, of course. Empty parking lots waiting just for me. Turn off the ESP and go!!! Haven't had as much fun for some time and a good learning experience about how your car behaves... also tried it with ESP, quite difficult to get it to slide with the electronic nannies preventing you from doing things that could harm you on the road. That's not to say you cannot end up in the ditch entering a curve too fast....

I am
I have a E55 that has only 14,000 kms on the clock, beats all the new ones I reckon. The new cars have limited feel and the electronics start to dominate the driving experience. My favourite Merc though is the SLS 63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG (W210)
I'm driving mine daily when it's not in the shop having modifications and improvements performed on it.
I have a project thread on here, a personal Instagram, and a YouTube channel where I showcase as much as possible to help others.
My answer to anyone need answers to questions about our cars from time to time would be to remember we also have personal inboxes on this forum. Track down the experts with a little research and ask for help directly from that individual.
I have made much of the choices on how to take care of and run my W210 based on this forum. It shouldn't be underestimated.

Before I post up...
...am I the only one curious about the red, vertically stacked, shipping containers?
I've had mine 3 years now and, as my dd, 350 miles per week currently sitting at 175k miles. It runs like it's brand new. I have some rust issues I need to address this summer, but overall, no complaints.

I really like the Depos, but I'm going to order another set of lenses for them. The lens that comes with the Depo set aren't the most accurate, I want something a bit sharper.
I'm doing #1 pads in the front and #2 in the rear. I had #1's in the rear but when I switched to Voghtlands a couple of weeks ago, I went with #2 in the rear, the 1's weren't too low, but would've looked crazy without cutting the front springs to give me that level and balanced look, which I didn't want to do.
I'm thinking about going with coil overs next, to get the tucked stance I really want.

The adjustability with coil overs will be great. I'm on the fence with keeping my ROW look with my #3 pads and going lower. I will probably keep it as is with the Vogtlands.
We have the same springs and shocks. What setting are you running on your shocks? Have you tried the other settings? Mine are on the softest setting and haven't moved.

I've been resisting replacing my OE headlights, but the more I see the more modern examples offered, the more interested I get. I really like your black Depos. I saw some LED lights that looked really interesting as well.

My Koni's are also on the softest setting and it rides just like OEM, under normal driving conditions. I love the response during hard cornering, with the Vogtlands, I think it's a great combination. If you change the settings on yours, let me know, and I'll do the same - I might change it up just to see how it rides...

1999 E55 AMG, 1994 W124 (RIP)
I just bought my '99 E55 in excellent condition for 147,xxx miles three weeks ago and have loved it every day since!! It's my DD and I spend 1-3 hours in it per work day through Atlanta gridlock traffic and the open 7 lane highways both...its as comfortable as (almost) any other car in traffic, and on the open highway....well I think you all know how that is!!! As far as this forum goes, I think it is a good resource for information when using the search feature, but does seem to lack the member base when compared to say the 500E Board forum (I owned a W124 with a 500E motor before the E55), which is also a fairly rare car in the USA. Could this forum be improved, yes just like anything else. Is it a good resource of information, ABSOLUTELY.
