Slightly under-steer. I'm guessing he didn't know the road that well. Also looks like he was driving over the yellow lines a bit much.
Cali?
Passenger and driver only suffered minor injuries.

Pretty obvious the guy has no drifting skills. I would definately learn on the track first before even trying to attempt on the winding roads. I think, thats the prob with ppl...its not the car but the driver that needs to learn how to handle the winding roads.

Ok. I figured it all out guys. He was clearly racing or at least trying to keep up with the driver that was ahead, however....... whatever car that was it either knew the road very well or it was just that much faster coming out of the turns.
Solved.

Insurance company would love to cancel this guys policy if they find out! Clearly impaired driving, his driving ability was impaired by his lack of experience and the fact he thought the BMW would compensate for his idiocy. Yes he was over the double yellow, just lucky no other car or motorcycle was in the oncoming lane travelling home after a day at the beach as his life of driving nice cars would be over.

I do not think that the guy was pushing hard. More like he did not know how. On a street car that has quite a slow steering, one does NOT want to steer like one would do on a racing car, simply turning the wheel. It is very clear from the video, that he simply ran out of... arms.
In a fast road car, you better shuffle the wheel, so that your hands are always even at nine fifteen. If that clown had simply grabbed more steering, his car would still be intact. The issue here is that even high performance driving schools are teaching you wrong. Real life has tight turns that racing tracks rarely have. You NEED the car to steer.
Also "under-steer", my foot. Light pressure on the brakes would have applied the down force needed for the front end to stick, that and shuffling the steering would have been a breeze through the next turn.
I have driven that road, on my way to race the Historics, so many times, and seen so many lose it like that. It is PATHETIC that most driving schools in this country teach kids to drive with their hands at 10 and 2 and never teach them trail braking or shuffling.
He is damn lucky to be alive.

Nothing a little Zaino won't take out.
Interesting to see when the side airbag deployed. The system obvious knew the car was going over before it actually rolled.
