The SS headers look nice. It looks to me that the new headers may actually have a smaller ID than the stock manifolds, our are my eyes playing tricks with me.

The way the Kleemann pipes match up to the block and they're exactly what they need to be. The mandrel bends and fabrication show the differences in the places where it matters. I don't know how much you know about the stock headers but they're a very poor setup.

The first stumbling block has been hit, but thanks to Kleemann and House of Cars it's an "easy fix".
Unfortunately my E55 is running the older 2.0 ECU and not the 2.8, it also doesn't have an OBD-II port, it has the 38 pin data port under the bonnet.
Long story short, it's a more complicated process remapping the my spec ECU, which includes the replacement of chips on the it's board etc.
That being said, Claus at Kleemann advised us to ship the ECU to him in Denmark, which House of Cars have done via TNT's express service, so the ECU's board, chipset, and programs can all be modified.
The ECU will be shipped back express by Kleemann, so we should have it back before the kits is fully plumbed in.
Happy Days.

Thank you, I just needed clarification on the tube size dimensions. I understand the purpose of headers.

Not only are the stock header pipes encased within the "large" outer shield restrictive, there are bends and kinks in the stock system which create a huge restriction compared to upgraded systems.
Again I will say really study the W210 stock system, not just assume to understand "the purpose of headers", as If you really understand the stock units you would know exactly why it's pretty much essential to swap them out.

Something to keep the people following the thread amused:
More photos and videos to come of course, and the work should be finished midway through next week.
