W210 E55 AMG STARTING Stalling issue

So I have a major issue. Yesterday I noticed when I stopped at a stop light the car stalled on me. It started right back up. Didn't think about it again. Then today I drive to lunch, and when we returned to the car, it wouldn't start. The car would crank, but not fire. After a few tires the car started. After that we drive about a mile and is stalled. It cranked back up, no issues. Have been driving the rest of the day and it seems fine

No CEL.

After a search it seems fuel pump or crank position sensor.

Any insight into this? Any help would be great. Thank you

KDAWG

I had a similar issue with my 99 E55 , It was the Crank position sensor.

Just change the CPS. East job. Peace of mind. Cheapest of your two choices.

The best or nothing
Looks like the CPS. I replaced mine just in case this might happen.

I just change mine two months ago. The video makes it look easy. I think changing the plugs are much easier then the cps unit. most important is make sure you take your time unscrewing the tiny torx bolt out and not loose it somewhere behind the tranny

The old one must be the original.

Why can't MB have just a regular bolt rather then this torx bolt to put behind the engine
