Gauge cluster question/WTB

I'm looking to replace my cluster. Are the any that will work or do I need a 2000-2002 E55 cluster.
Must be in great working condition.
Mileage doesn't matter, let me know what you have.

It's a US spec 2001 E55.

I had it at BBA reman and they say it's not reparable. Honestly for 100-200 bux I'd rather install a known good one.

2001-production end have the digital speedo, 99-00 doesent. thats the only difference. But you´ll need a StarDiagnosis to transfer your configuration to the new one.

as far as i know both, the US AMG and non-AMG, Cluster have 160mph max? so you can buy a non-amg one and replace the middle panel with the one from your amg.

EU AMG Clusters have 280km/h max, non-AMG 260km/h ...

greetings, Fabian

I have seen a few euro E55'S with AMG300KM/H scale.
this was a spezial option from factory if V-max was de-limit.

standard was the 280KM/H scale with 255KM/H speed limit

hmn ... afaik there is no factory 300km/h limit on the w210's, but you could have this as a special option from AMG directly after buying a "standard" e55.

AMG then uses the W208 AMG Cluster, these where always 300km/h clusters. there is no factory w210 cluster with 300km/h but the w208 clustere are basically the same, except the partnumber.

greetings, Fabian

so I happen to have a loose cluster from a pre-facelift w208/w210 with 300KM/H AMG face dial.

I also have VDO/AMG face dials for retrofit.
alle genuine MB parts.

what do you say about these stuff?
Who sold these parts from the very first beginning?

dials where never sold seperatly by mercedes. But ive seen many real good "copies". I also have a 320km/h dial with "VDO" stamp on it. But i am 99% sure it is not from VDO ;-)

I am not that familiar with W208 but i think they always had the 300km/h dial ... no matter if facelift or not.

W210 always had the 280km/h dial...

greetings, Fabian

if dials were fake, the orange color illumination would not illuminate through the dial paper material.
Mine does.

I have seen fake aftermarket 300 dials, they have NO VDO partsnumber in the upper right corner like I have on my dials.
My dials are genuine stuff and the material feels stiff enuff feeling the dial with my fingers

this is the fake one i found on interweb
no VDO logos or partsnumber
