Hey guys. Not trying to ruin this deal for this carbon air box. But I now make my custom OEM air box for your cars. Customers have been really satisfied with the performance my box makes.
It's basically same concept as the renntech but minus the carbon fiber. But my modded boxes give same power but keeps OEM look.

I sold the box already but I am wondering what you have done to this box to make it better than OEM?

What I do is cut the box in half and raise it bout 1 inch from stock. This gives the box more air volume. Which helps the engine breathe much better. So the throttle response is better and performance is better at any rpm.
I also remove some plastic or gut the inside of the air box. There's a lot of welding and body and paint work to make it look nice like stock.

I have a 1999 C43 and I modded my own air box 4-5 years ago. I posted to let the guys know how much better a modded air box is. And I got people wanting me to mod one for them. That's how I started. And now I make them for you guys. Hope this helps....
I just put a speed43 box on my W210. It's wonderful and functions exactly as he says it does, car feels a lot snappier across the board. If you dig deep into the internet, I found some older posts on the C55 world with decent shots inside a Renntech box, they do basically the same thing speed43 does, then cover their work with a carbon cover and charge 3x as much as he does. I wanted something that looked totally stock but does the same thing, and I'm very pleased. 10/10 all owners should buy one, especially if you're tuned and have a higher flowing exhaust!
