W210 E55 Lightest Battery options ?

Application: 2002 E55
Use: Car doesn't get driven much and would be on the trickle charger for the most of the time
Battery type: AGM vs lithium ion vs ?
Preference: My main requirement is ---- the lighter the better but don't want to compromise the performance of the battery either

The normal weight I have seen is 50lbs+, looking for something may be 30-40lbs, any suggestions?

Nothing when I google the lightest battery options?

Thanks

I would not put a Lithium Ion battery in my car, unless I park it outside.. and away from my house/garage. They are unstable in vehicles, computers, e bikes, cell phones etc. Just about all my scan tool I bought from 2019-2023 had a recall to replace the Lithium battery.

I'm currently using Lithium battery from "Anti-gravity/G27" with (V12.8 - 60A), and about (18lbs = 8.2kg) since around 5 years without any issues,

it's really great, but damn damn pricy!!,,

not recommend to spend that much $$$$ for battery only

But you save like 40 lbs, don't think that's worth it?

i could be wrong; but it's not worth it for me, cause I'm not track guy or even street racer,

probably, can use that amount for servicing or moving parts etc.,,

{-- pinky days>> golden past>>> Thanks GOD--}..

It's a street car, not a Formula 1 race car. Striving for a lighter and more expensive battery will stroke your ego and do nothing on the street or the track. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
Go for a reliable AGM battery and use the trickle charger.

Yeah definately not spending $1000 but thought there might be less heavy options
I agree on an AGM battery with a trickle charger for sure

I just recently replaced my battery. I got the DieHard Platinum AGM. It was $249 (with military discount) from Advanced Auto.

I have owned this E55 since June of 2015. The battery that was in there had a sticker of "5/12" so not too shabby for a car that sits many days a week and not driven much at that.

Stick with the OE battery size and buy a quality battery from an auto store. Most automotive batteries are made by three large manufacturers and branded for the retailer, so you'll end up with an East Penn, Exide or Clarios product no matter whose name is pasted on the top. Shaving 10 lbs. off the battery weight is something you'll notice only when lifting it into place while installing.
