I was able to smoke the BFGs for about 20 feet and the continential POS forever.
When I changed my BFGs at 11K miles I noticed they wore very badly on the insides. Both tires had begun to peel apart on the side walls. Could have been from a few 15 sec burnouts in the waterbox but nevertheless I am lucky they didn't blow out on the highway. I only got the car up to 120mph a few times and only did 2 ETs.
If I get the LSD unit I will also opt for the 282 gears -- all in about $4600.

THAT ACTUALLY IS SOMETHING WE ARE ALL GOING TO HAVE TO CONSIDER....being a lifelong track fan...I have actually seen guys (now granted they are pushing a higher stall and slightly more HP) have their driveshaft come knocking right up through the floorboard....also have seen just once, a tranny blow and have seen the marks on the floorboard where the planetary gears went through like those kung fu fighting stars.
With all the mods (Stage 3 etc....) then LSD and drag slicks, I bet the new forum section with be "just blew another tranny....and they laughed and they laughed at the dealer"
SH()(t, guys when we are talking 600HP, that's a boatload of torque to place on stock tranny. Sure hope those AMG trannys are bulletproof!!!!
Wonder if we ever are gonna have to buy a friggin transblanket for a $100K car...HA, what a time we are living in. I always wished I could have been in the 60-70's muscle car era (of buying age) ....screw that...WE'RE THERE.
