I'm looking to get the BFG drag radials. What tire size did you get in the rears...they are telling me that they don't come in 265/35/18 (only 275/35/18). Is that the tire that you got? Thanks.

Yep. It's a whole new world. Especially if you've run before on street tires. You'll need to put it in dyno mode, heat'em up for a good 6-8 seconds, and then let it rip. When it comes to launching, it's all about finding the point where your tires break traction once they're heated up. You want to power load up to the point right before the tires break traction for the best 60' time possible.

Thanks for the 411...have you checked out the new Automobile magazine? It had an SL65 at the Orlando Speedway doing 1/4 mile runs (totally stock). Supposedly, it was doing 11.6's or 11.7's(from what I remembered).

the correct size for the rear tires are 275/35-18 and they fit perfectly on the factory wheel even though the factory tires are 265's. Many guys here(including myself) have them on their car with no problems.

That's pretty amazing for Orlando. Orlando is the worst track I have ever been to or heard of. Their track prep is horrific. They call it the Orlando Spinway.

Derek...When you drag the car:

1. What octane are you running?
2. Do run at full tank, almost empty, in between, or does it matter?
3. What PSI are you running the drag radials?

Thanks.

1) 93. I don't think the higher octanes make a difference unless your ECU is mapped for it. I've run higher octanes and haven't seen a difference.

2) Almost empty just to save a bit of weight.

3) 18-20 cold.

Thanks again...what do you think you need to do to get to 11.5? I've ordered the drags and it will be a 3-4 business day wait.

You guys and your mods are killing me...LOL!

Who knows. The intercooler may help but I'm not an engine guy so I have no idea. GidEUp with Stage 3 may be able to get it. I think there's a little more meat on the bones in terms of my launching but not that much.

Where you are now is pretty outstanding, considering the limited (relative to the other modified cars - ex. mustangs, vipers, etc...) mods you have now.

...and you can seat four and some luggage.
