V1 install?
I just took my V1 with concealed display off my M3 and would like to install it now on my 55. Hoping to get some help on installing this on an E55...Thanks

The 12v for the cig lighter is switched. Open the ash tray door and pull up on the front edge of the trim piece that surrounds the shifter. You'll have more room if the shifter is in D. With this piece out of the way, you can pull up on the front edge of the ashtray to release it and then slide it out. There are 3 or 4 wires going to the back of the lighter. Scorchie says the red striped one should be switched power. I've made it this far but haven't been able to release the wiring harness from the back of the lighter. I'm waiting for a sunny day for better lighting. The 12v outlet at the back of the console is also switched. Anyone know how to get into the new for 2005 console to access it?

I'm not much of an electical guy Frisco. In the first picture, is the blue plastic thing on the red wire tapping into the blue wire? That looks pretty simple and I wouldn't have to remove the harness to do it.
Teej, I threw some pictures up on the sticky thread. The car was dirty so I didn't want to launch my own thread and get flamed for my messy car

Teej, for pics of my car, check the E55 picture thread. If you meant the V1 install, I'm hoping to do it Tuesday. Gotta replace my first tire already. Man I hate potholes.
