house, wife, wife's car, kids, food, clothes for all, all the forms of insurance, property taxes, private school tuition, save for college, nice vacations, 35% to the IRS, save for own retirement, plus more!
I would think that even at over 500k/yr that an E55 is a luxury item.
My experience is that to drive cars over 130k you have either inherited wealth, or make high six figs with no dependants, or make well north of 1 million.

Agree 100%. My daughter is starting K in the fall and it will cost me over $1K a month. She is in pre-k currently and it costs me $800 month. If I had no wife and no kids I could be driving a Carrera GT

You liar...you know you'd be driving a Kleemann SLR, Bently GT (moddified), and somewhere in the lineup a Stage K4000000 G55 for your daily driver.
All jokes aside, I feel you man. With my wife not ever working (don't know how we survived those years we were spending more than I made) and 2 kids and 1 going to school now...man it ain't easy. But I guess we've all been blessed with the ability to afford the cars we drive and still be able to do the things we do.
Pimpitcharlie, I think there are quite a few of us that pull over $500K and live on this forum. I undertand your "intent" as I don't suspect Bill Gates or Buffet to be hanging out on these forums.
Eagleeye, 35% to the IRS? Man fire your accountant....just kidding

my family makes something like 90-95k, a fraction of what you guys make, and we still afford a mercedes, a bmw, and a 800k house and all those other nessecities.
what are you guys, General Mangers or something? i thought the GM was as liek the highest position of bussinesses, or are there doctors here?
i would be happy with 200k

ps DONT BUY ANYTHING IN CASH...borrow someones else's money at 4-6% and invest in real estate where returns are 10-25%. purchase with 90%interest only loans, buy investments props at 4 month intervels so youll only have 3 at a time and pay short term cap gains but you wont be too exposed if market drastically turns or buy 3, keep for a year then flip for 3 more and pay long term cap gains. also, cash out your house to the max, again interest only and buy away!!! damn, i could go on and on, also, find the cheapest condo development in your area and watch it every day. soon youll know exactly what the models are just by br count and what they are bringing. in a local project of 1,183 units there are only 1-2 for sale at any 1 time. i bought 2, gutted em and when i put them back on the market mine were the only ones avail. so i set the market +10%. then all new listings price off mine. i repeated a few times and 40-70% annualized rate of returns and theyre flipped in 3 months.
pps. ill stop know. this is my experience only.
Happy motoring everyone.

95k year = roughly 6k take home per month.
800k house, assuming you could save enough on 95k to put 20% down (160k)
(btw, pretty hard to save 160k and pay for everything else on 6-7k/month) leaves you with a mortgage of 640, which at 6% over 30 yrs is almost 3900/month payment.
Add in property tax, insurance, utilities, 05 MB, BMW, insurance for both, food, clean underwear, deodorant, dental floss, 1 or 2 condoms a year, and there may be enough left over to hand to your kid for a sweet tart as you leave Wal-Mart.
No way you could do that on that income alone.

I'm not even making the big bucks yet - I'm going to law school.
Interesting thread btw, thanks.
PS I do 3 cars and a house right near what the guy with 95K has and while I'm not saying liar, there has to be more to the story there.
