The Blue Beast
Finally got my new baby washed and waxed. I got two coats of Zaino on before the kids got home from school. It comes off very easily and so far I'm really happy with the results. No comments on the wheels, I still need to wash them. 
The last picture is really close to what Black Opal looks like in person in the sun.

Great color choice! Looks mean in black opal, as the beast should. I was born and raised in NE Ohio, so I know how tough it is to keep a car clean.

Thanks former and current OH residents. Winter ride eagleeye? You're looking at it! Seriously, my 540 did great with dedicated snow tires and I'm sure the beast will too. There's obviously a lot of debate about what to do with your baby when the white stuff flies, but I prefer to have the safety equipment of the W211 surrounding me if somebody hits me. (And I want my buns toasty too.)

The car looks real nice. I will get some pic's of mine up in a couple of days. I do have some news about the satellite antenna that some of you might find interesting. My car came in with a "new style" and a smaller size antenna. My salesman told me that they are installing the black cplor now and they will be available in 4 or 5 colors or primed for painting one of the other colors. He said that the black one is the only color that MB has permission from the FTC to sell at this time. He ordered a white one for me and the dealership will change it when it comes in. Here are a couple of pictures of the antenna in black. Xraymd, try to see if your dealer will change the antenna for you if you are unhappy with the one that you have now. Good luck.

That does look smaller. And mine has this annoying screw head top dead center that looks kind of stupid. I'll have to think about it. Truthfully, I don't even notice it.

You won't be able to buy the new antenna from a dealership until MBUSA sells out its existing inventory of the old antennas for accessory installations. This is true even though the new antennas are already being sold for factory-installed satellite radios. Or so they told me -- it's a long story, but you can read it here.

Not yet Teej, you can see what I did with my day off. I'm off next week and we're not going anywhere with the kids in school. I'm going to tackle it then after a trip to RadioShack. If I can by some terminator that taps into the wire that would be great. I'm hoping with some better lighting to get the darned connector off the back of the lighter. I really don't want to splice anything.

xraymd Just doing a search for Black Opal and came across your pictures. Finally I can show the wife a good example of what we have ordered on a CLS and how it looks like in the sun. By the way have been using Zaino for 6+ years now. Don't know if you got the E-mail from Zaino but they have a new detailing spray out. Haven't heard any feedback on it yet. Thanks.Car looks great!

Glad to be of help. I wanted to try and get a good picture of Black Opal online for all to see. I was lucky. When I ordered my E55, there was a 320 on the lot in Black Opal. Of course it looks even better with the blue tinted windows.
