The eagle has landed some new rims.....
I felt like I was taking somewhat of a chance with the six spoke, having been unable to find a pic of a W211 with them, but I did a trial photoshop run and something told me to take a chance, be different, that it just might look damn good. Once mounted, I felt glad that I did.
The best part was that I took the wheels to my MB dealer (the tires came already mounted and balanced from Peter) and they mounted them as I watched; they then told me there would be no charge! Sweet!
The car DEFINITELY feels more planted and responsive. Major improvement over those damn Conti's. No significant change in ride quality. Glad I went with the 19's; they are big enough!
Since there was no charge, I gave the service tech, who was a nice, knowledgeable guy, a green handshake. He told be he would take care of me in the future, and he even said he would do the star diagnostic lowering for me.
On a sad note, I begged and pleaded with the service manager to disable the seat belt chime; after a few minutes he told me it was against the law and he couldn't do it; it really seemed that he wanted to. Likened it to me asking him to remove the cat converter.... it is against federal rules??? Oh well, can't win 'em all.
Anyway, what do you all think?
