Trading in my beast :(
so yeah i was about to change the car in september when is our baby is due, But my salseman called me and give me a killer deal so i had to do it anyway, i'm taking a delivery of a silver almost fully loaded ML350, Drove one today and its a soft pimpmpbile! I loved it, ofcourse not near as fast but damn its comfy! 7speed gearbox makes the changes very softly and new 350 engine with 268hp is not bad for daily driving! I really didnt wanna do it, but family is first! Its also a way better build ML, very quite inside! So now im all sad and ****! but hey its not the most important thing in the life! I'm gonna have a baby soon and a new house!
So im gonna wait till the next year and then get a real sports car! LIke 996 turbo or a z06 maybe?

Bob... I'm speechless... I know how much you loved your car and how much we loved seeing your wife in it (
), but a man's gotta do what he's gotta do.
You know what's funny, though. I traded in my ML for the E55. :p
Hate to lose you as one of our E55 brothers, but good luck.

I know how you feel man. When our first baby came, I had to give up my Escort GT. That's right, I said it. GT baby. (It was even that horrid turquoise color.)

Family vehicle
I think it's time for the wife to do another beauty and the beast series in the ML. ![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Seriously the ML350 is a nice car. You can even get the first batch iPod kit to play baby music.
Have they improved the brakes on the ML? The bubblegum brakes were my biggest complaint on the previous ML.
For winter driving we take the Audi allroad, for family outing nothing beats the MINI-VAN! It's so civilized, the Honda Odyssey Touring has the DVD navigation (with built-in Zagat restaurant reviews), auto rear hatch, rear reverse camera, DVD player in the back to keep the baby happy.

Congratulation Bob to you and your wife on your upcoming new baby... Please keep in touch from time to time. As for the E55, you are right, there are more important things in life than cars. Best of luck to you both.

I dont understand your decision either, but at the end of the day its just that...your decision. The E55 is more than suitable for the job and is 1000 times the vehicle that any ML will ever be!!! Now there is yet another irritating SUV on the road....but at least its in Canada! :p

Sure gonna miss ya B man....vids were legendary!
Take it from experience....the Beast WILL come back into your life again....as Mr Quinn and I always say..."You're part of da famillllyyyyyy"...it never really leaves ya.
This will actually time out great.....you can have the kid while we go through N/A hell and get killed by Chrysler 300's and Cobras for a year, then when sales plummet, twin turbos will be out just in time for you to wanna add onto the SUV and go back to Beastiality.
Best to you and the new fam. It's a crazy, wonderful, terrifying, suicidal, yet totally fulfilling experience having a kid....and remember, none of us, or none of your coworkers will be at your bedside when you pass on to whatever comes next after this life....just your kids and your wife.....take care of them.

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
Bob, DON'T DO IT. You'll be forever sorry. My Dad did the same thing 2 years ago. He bought an ML320 and missed his SL500 so much he went back to dealership and bought his old car back. He kept both for about 6 mos then got rid of the ML.
My wife and I fortunately are almost out of the kid factory business but when we were cranking them out we had a Supra Turbo. We only went to a 400E when my daughter started complaining that her legs were cramped when the seats were leaned back. My wife refused to drive a "MAMA CAR". After the E she's been in M3s ever since. My point is you don't really need all that space unless you take road trips alot. We always fly so space is not needed 99% of the time.
Come to your senses boy. You just can't do it. Who's going to keep the forum stocked with burn out footage?

You truly are part of the family and that won't change because you've moved on to ML territory. I have enjoyed your posts and videos tremendously and am proud to consider you a brother on this board. While I hope you change your mind and keep the E55, just let little Bob/Bobbi know that s/he has many "uncles" waiting to take him or her for a ride in their 55s. Good luck, man.

I'm Stunned
Words escape me. Though, of course, I have to respect your decision. If winter driving was the issue, I think I'd pick an E500 4Matic, which has more than enough space -- and much safer handling than the ML350, I expect. Just my two cents. Then again, if the lady wants an SUV, the lady gets an SUV!
