Couple questions... do you bend it lower to the ground or higher?

Also would you need to put this on a lift to get access or could you reach it by taking off the back drivers side wheel?

No, you bend it towards the rear. This pic below, imagine you are laying on the ground, and you slide under the car from the rear bumper(head first). You bend this bracket towards the rear of the car. Once you find the bracket and see how people mod the holes(move them rearward) it will make sense.

Yes, you can access the part without a lift. I used my aftermarket jack, lifted the rear drivers side, placed a jack-stand under the car, and slide under the car from the rear.

The bracket is going to be slightly towards the drivers side, behind the exhaust piping(drivers side exhaust piping).

Hope this helps...

The rear is noticeable, but the front is barely even lowered. I'm going to try having Stardul lower it via Star now.

Anyways, I hope no one minds me using their pic, but I bent the bracket back. I used a large wrench and only bent it 3-5mm's.

The pic/laying directly underneath the car with the 2 bolts facing the ground. Re-drilling the holes essentially moves it back. I just bent it slightly back by placing the wrench where the red circle is and pushing it back in the direction of the red arrow/towards the rear of the car...as illustrated here:

This makes sense to me now. I was trying to bend it directly down, and obviously failed. Bending it "up" and "back" makes sense to me now, given the configuration of the height sensor arm up above.

I am going to go the STAR route probably this weekend.

for gazosnic's benefit - no, you cannot access this via the rear wheel well. You literally need to be totally under the car, facing the diff. tight little spot down there.

That def helps thanks! Last question... where do you recommend i place the jack stand? Typically I lift the car with my racing jack on the stock jack points. Is there a recommended spot for the stand once I have it up?

Thanks!

I've had that same question since I bought the car and no one seems to be able to answer it well....

I used the rear lower control arms....placed the jack stand there, but didn't place any weight on it. It was more for just in case. I was under there for literally 2 minutes so I felt my jack was enough. But good question...I'm curious too.

hmm... seems like there has to be a better solution. Wish I had access to a real lift for this.

Hey guys, to do my rear, I just bought a set of drive up ramps from autozone and had PLENTY of room. Placed behind rear wheels, reversed up, and bam, easy access.

I tried that and it kicked them back.... was to afraid to try that again. Probably need better ramps. I may try and build some ramps instead with a longer 'runway'

The ramps I got have rubber feet that hold them tight, $38 at just about all autopart stores. They are black plastic and rated for 16,000 pounds.

Use your floorjack to lift the car and then just put the ramps under the tires.

Ok so finally did the rear myself as well. It was super easy. If anything took the longest to find it and adjust back and forth to desired height.

I just used a large flat head screw driver and slightly pushed on the silver metal bracket toward the rear of the car. I mean SLIGHT... at first I lowered it back down and the rear was tucked! lol... Wasnt to my taste so i bent back a bit the other direction (toward front of car) and got myself a mild drop to better match my front.

Below is a pic of the silver bracket to bend and the resulting pic of my drop (note I went for a very mild drop - you can go tucked if you want very easily).

This is a 5 min mod... I dont see the need for links. The only product I see as an advantage here would be the ELM so you can adjust from inside the car on the fly.

I did it. its the bracket that holds the sensor if that makes sense. It works, but it isn't really precise so you have to play w it until you are happy with the drop. Id actually recommend using links or something similar in the rear to better control the exact height you are looking for.

I just used a long screwdriver for leverage.... really you can use anything... if i remember correctly you basically are pushing it up / toward the rear of the car.

How has there airmatics been holding up with this mod? (those of you have has done a while ago). Has anyone ever tried this mod in combination with lowering links? If so what whas the outcome? Wondering if it will slam the car or if it can even be done.

No issues here after 2+ years.

Also, why would you need to combine this with lowering links?

Anyone know of a shop in OC that would do this for me? Don't want to mess anything up and would rather have someone that knows what they're doing.
