Pics of new black E55
Just traded in my '03 E500 on this new '05...pretty basically equipped, Pano, CD changer, Sirius, light package. At least it was cheap, and I even got it for $2K off sticker...$83K and change. Just put 1,000 miles on it, so I can burn up these crappy Conti's quick. Tinted the windows, lowered it just a bit, 13mm, put on an AMG flat hood emblem and put in K&N's. Now trying to decide which Stage 1 ECU/Pulley upgrade to go with. Seems like there is no clear consensus on which is better, so I'll keep looking. Here are a few pics. Can't wait to run it on a big track like Willow Springs soon.

2005 C55 AMG
I just went and sat in one today, seriously considering upping from my 2005 C55. The car I saw was Silver, but your black benz looks very sweet. Nice purchase.

It is beautiful and looked just like mine before I did my mods. Enjoy it and let the mods begin!

Could you post some pics of your car. I talked to Cory about the K2 package and I was just wondering if you've experienced any overheating problems at all.

PS. You guys don't know how good you have it in the US: USD83,000 for E55?
If you lived in Australia you would be buying a C320 for that kind of money, and they can't make enough of them for us in South Africa!
E55, with our import duties, luxury car sales tax, federal GST(VAT), state registration stamp duty and Daimler Chrysler excessive margins for a small market, will set you back USD195,000 before you roll out of the dealership.
Want an SL55 ? - hand over USD315,000, prefer SL65? sure, USD380,000...
Sydney's weather's good though... but so is California.

EPOWER...Congrats on your newly aquired BEAST! Last night, I looked at an 05 E55 @ $85K with 9K miles at Keyes European, didn't have the options I wanted anyways... but also a bit pricey for a pre-owned. Also, did a testrun on both the C55 & E55...What a HUGE difference in power delivery

Just an idea for you MKB offers nice package for E55 Stage 1 540HP ( ECU and optimazed Air Intake duct) for a good price... 20 more then Kleemann...

PLUS all goods and services (GST) attract 10% tax at point of sale.
AND cars priced above about $55k (nearly all mercs, audis, BMWs) have a luxury car tax which is 35% added.
AND there is an import tax on cars about 5%.
AND petrol costs $1.00/litre or about $US2.75/US gallon.
DONT GET US STARTED ON DAMN TAX.
