New member question: 20s vs 19s, etc.

As the new owner of a silver 2005 E55, and someone who can't seem to leave anything stock, I would be interested in opinions of 19" vs. 20" rims. Also, what tire combinations are people running? I want the widest tire possible without scrubbing or sticking out and also want a deep rim look. Lastly, what is the best (not necessarily the cheapest) way in lowering the car a bit (maybe 1"?). As with many, I like the low fat look but don't want scrubbing, sticking out or a terrible ride.

As this question may have already been asked please point me in the right direction for the previous discussion.

Thanks in advance.

have a look at wheel experts a sponsor on this site "Gallery" thus should give you an idea of what you'd want...

In your case I would go with 20x9 front 245/30 and 20x10 rear 285/25...

No 20-inch tires in the market in the proper sizing has the proper load rating for the E55.

When your car experiences a load-shift (i.e., an abrupt turn while barrelling down the road), the tire and wheel combo in the leading edge of the car experiences the most mechanical stress. You need a tire that is load rated and will withstand the forces of this condition.

I guess I am surprised at that Earl since I see many that have put 20s on their 55s. Does anyone else have a comment on this as I do not want to create an unsafe condition just to get the look I want. And I do drive the car hard. Thanks for the input Earl.

sorry m5 its just that all of your posts are some new wing nut idea you've come up with, I guess your a forigner and I know it probrably takes awhile living in a 3rd world country to find out stuff, but you should read past posts on stufff before you ask, and asking people if you should buy konigs and tsw's and saying statements like "well they cost alot of money" makes you loose all credibility.

Somewhat true but not all--- Russia is not a 3rd world country and the "konig/tws idea" is classic!

Thank you...

You'll be surprised how we leave here...especially Moscow, its the 3 or 4th (i dont remember) most expensive city in the world...We have everything ...

It does not take a while to find out things...We have internet as well...They dont sell HRE here, only special order, but this would cost big $$$...

Car more expensive, good life is expensive, women are cheaper...

The price for some mods (wheels) are are much more expensive then in US, for example 19 LM 5 Lorinser wheel cost in US aprox 5k and in Russia 8k...

The new E55 AMG cost here 120k EURO thus approx 150k US...

I beleive this board is international...Someone knows more and some less about certain things...We all learn something from each other...

Plus I havent said anything irrelevant in this post...

Those ****y Konig wheels cost 700Each here..and yes I didnt now they are POS...and you people cleared this up for me...
