I was on my way back from dropping my girl off at 1:30am, when I notice a xenon light coming up behind me. he trailed me for about 1/2 mile so i didn't think he wanted any. We pulled up to Vanowen anf Laurel cyn. after the bump he counted down with his hand from a rolling start. I let him accelerate a half car length before i punched it. But boy did it go,I speed by him in a matter of a second and kept gaining, he was about 5 car lenghts behind before i noticed that i was going over 100 so i slowed down cause of tickets. They finally caught up to me at the light and was praising me about how great the supercharger must be. they seem shocked that I beat them, But sure as hell wasn't. Well had to share this because it was one of the only time when someone has challenged me to race.

 

645 is not a competitor for E55K...But you had fun and thats what is most important

 

thats not the point mr running to save every bmw mr!!! its just a good kill story. he challenged our fella, nice kill yayo. our cars get very few takers so each one is special

Here is one/half of one of my stories M5 vs 543HP Kleemanns 210 E55 K...

"Now it around 12 at night I am thinking of going home and thought, may be I should pass a local place where all the people who interested in fast cars and streetracing are meting....you can see there anything from Lada to Lambo...It is located right in the city center and has got some nice roads around....so races happen there as well....

As pass this place I notice a couple of cars park there, some Mercs, black M5, RS4, old 124 e500 and others car....People are talking....I stop at the light then accelate util 4000RPms and pass them, they noctice me....and waving. ..So I come near them and I see my freind who has got same color M5 with Cats removed and it showed on the Dyno 420HP and 520 Torgues ....he says hew beats all other M5 in the city...I didn't race him yet...will do it soon...to see who is the ..of M5's...in Moscow...

He comes up to me and says "do ya want to race this Merc" I am suspecious now..WTF..They think I will show up Oh Yeah this Merc E55 no probs.....but to my luck I now something about cars and I tell him why??? Is it Kleemann or something???...and he says Yeah....I say "you know it quite fast around 550HPs" he says what you don't want as well....I think the other guy in black M5 got scared ....I say " why not - lets go" tell my wife to get out of the car....make some sound effects... and the owner of Kleemanns E55 running to me with a bottle of wine in his hands...

So I say" you have go Kleemanns compressor there" and he is like "yeah, measured on a Dyno 543HPs, it quite fast" He is so proud...I tell him" I know its fast but only in straght" he says "you are right!!! I spend 25K on the engine and its an automatic"So you want to have a go???" I am like " Hell' yeah why not, lets try"....He says" Oh well I am a little drunk...can my driver race with you???" I go" I dont care who goes its automatic anyways, just press the pedal and rest is done by the car"...So he calls his driver....We are off to next raffic light....

I say to the driver "We go on Green"...Lights Green I launch good but F*ck, ****,****,MFK I misshifted to 2nd....Everybody is looking and I am embarresed ...usually I dont make such mistakes...so he pulls hard on me....I catch with him on the other light and says lets turn around and from the light go opposite way...

So light Green 1500 perfect launch.... M5 pulls hard, No wheels spin, thanks to PS2 , I pull on him in 1st, 2nd he catchs up with me and 3rd he pulls like 1.5-2 leghts.....I thought he will abosolutely destroy me.... but We went up tp 200km the cap did no increase....then he gave up as the Red light was coming....I passed him....but his car is still faster....

When I came back the owner of Kleemann was hardly standing on his legs...asked me if he can sit in my car told me that he like it as well as his Merc....and I told him that if I would spend a 25K+and put a Supercharger then I would be running 600Hp's+...and he would not have a chance and same stock vs. stock....he admitted that I was right....He also told me that earlier today he beat 460Hps RS4 over 1km race...over 1/4 race RS4 beat him....."

MTM RS4 has 602 HP, 6 speed manual, 4 wd traction...

O-62 in 3.8 sec (0-60 in 3.6)...0-124 in 11+sec....Not sure about 1/4 times, but he had ceramics clutches, if he would launch good at like 5000 RPMS, with Drags he would do high 10s or low 11's...may be...

nice kill. a 645ci isn't close to the league a E55 is.

 

MTM RS4 simply disappears in 2 seconds when there is any opening ahead.

645i's chances against E55 were bad and completly impossible for you against that RS4, yet both of you WANTED TO RACE. If thats the case, than both of you were killed at will. Both are good kills.

"Direct competitor" argument is silly. I had Toyota Highlander pull up next to me last night at red light on a two lane road with a car parked in his lane 60-70 feet after the red light ahead of him. I was not going to let him cut in front of me and the "direct competitor" or not, was the last thing on my mind.

 

this was one of the first time that someone has challenged me. when he ask me i almost started to laugh but caught myself, im surprise that in LA no one wants to race anymore. when i had my dinan m3 everyone was trying to race me every stoplight.

 

One of my friends is a diehard BMW fan. He has 3 so far. He's been drooling over a 645Ci Convertible and finally got them to give him a good deal. After buying it for $86k USD I saw him and he said that he had never even considered a MB because we don't have a dealership in our town. He told me of getting on the interstate on ramp punching it and getting up to 90 then 100 before he realized how fast he was going. He said that it was the fastest car he had ever drive. I smiled and said that he needed to drive a MB just for kicks and grins. I gave him the keys to my E55 and away we went.

The first comment he made has how much nicer the interior was than the BMW. He then was blown away by the comfort of the seats. I told him that these features were nice but to fire it up. He loved the keyless go. I pulled a fast one on him and turned off the traction control. He pulled out like a MaMa and commented on how smooth and quiet it was. I made him punch it. We were going about 25mph on smooth blacktop. After the tires quit smoking he looked at me with a stunned look on his face and said my new 635 won't do that. He's a 70 Corvette owner so he knows what torque is. I then informed him that he could have one for $6k less than his BMW. He didn't believe me. I think I spoiled his day. :p Ha Ha

 

hahah thats a funny story, im sure glad i bought an e55 instead of a 645 i was very close to buying one.

yeah i have noticed that but still if i had another car i would have fun and still try to race the E55 just to see it perform,thats what i did when i had my m3 . Most E55 owners that I come across don't drive it agressively.

There's actually a meet going on on June 11 (see Events and Gathering Section) saturday. You may want to check that one out since there's going to be different flavors of cars joining in from other boards as well.

I love E55 interior over my S-class, not even talikg about new E60 interior...but need a good steering wheel combined leather with wood like I have on my S (Carlsson)

Carlsson and Kleemanns make the best wheel for Merc IMHO...

 

Did the guy in the new six have a paper bag over his head?? Cause those cars are so uuuugly thats the only way to drive one

 

Actually I saw the car yesterday and the convertible version looks pretty good. Of all the new BMWs I like it best. The metallic mineral silver color with the grey top looked like eye candy. Too bad you can't get the convertible with the 500 horse engine. I might consider it..........naaaaa,
I've visited the BMW dealership too many times to get the M3 fixed. I think I'll stick to my old reliable MB.

 

To each his own... but I'd guess that you're in the minority. The 6 series has hardly been knocked for it's looks (pretty much accepted from a design perspective)... the 5 series however...
