Hands down THE best mod- Euro headunit with TV tuner
I gotta say that the euro headunit with the tv tuner is by far the best mod ever. Even better than the engine stuff. We've driven over 2,000 miles in the E over the last 4 days and the ability to watch TV, DVD's, XM, and 1,000 MP3's per disc has been awesome.
During our mad 20 hour straight drive from Tally to NH, we had nearly non-stop network reception the entire time we were on I-95. Caught Will and Grace, Leno, Conan, and ALL the trashy judge shows. Definitely a great mod. Thanks again Steve.

Derik is right, I got my Euro unit back in Feb. and it is awesome. I love the stealthyness ( if that's a word) of it, none of those funky screens sitting up so high that anyone driving next to you can see what your watching. The price is $1500.00 if you exchange your US Command and $2500.00 if you buy it outright. It took about 20-25 minutes to install.

I will chime in with how pleased I am with the DVD/TV/NAV installation Steve did for me in November on my E500. Works like a charm - I can record satellite TV at home on DVD recorder to subsequently view on the road (my wife likes that), or watch broadcast TV, or listen to MP3, in addition to the GPS navigation capabilities. And yes . . . all accessible from the steering wheel controls.
Amazing job, Steve (and Wanda thanks again for co-ordinating everything). Not cheap, but worth it. I felt I really got what I paid for.

I have to agree with DerekFSU. Euro Comand is probably the BEST mod one could do to the W211. I had mine installed on Saturday by Scorchie, which took him less than 30 mins. Couldn't believe how clear the screen is and with the Logic7 activated...it makes you feel like you're in the theatres. Here are pics of my Euro Comand.

I was thinking the same thing. I do not see the SAT button that we have on the US version. Do you lose the Sirius function?

The Europeans do not have access to sat radio thus no sat radio button. I have XM but it goes into the 1 of 2 (I think) aux inputs. It has to be controlled via the XM Controller or the remote control. It's the only thing that is not controlled via the steering wheel.

Is there a video OUTPUT so that I could add some headrest screens and have the in dash stuff play back on them? I'm not a fan of headrest screens, but with my baby due in 2 months, its only a matter of time before I need to sit through countless Dora the Explorer and Wiggles DVD's to chill him out.

Don't know about the video output. The system is stock, euro stock. The only visual difference is a few button ID's. The TV antenna look like 2 old style cell phone antennas that attach to the inside corners of the rear windows.

some slow@$$diesels
good to hear that the TV/DVD is to be enjoyed on roadtrips...that is the main purpose.
Both the euro comand and the mercedes TV tuners we offer are OEM mercedes parts...the TV tuner can be installed in combination with an aftermarket 4way diversity antenna that can be installed out of sight against the inside of the rear window or per original mercedes antenna amplifiers that support the TV...the aftermarket antenna option is slightly cheaper...reception might differ a bit from the OEM amplifiers...
medici 78: We also offer original mercedes rear monitors...these monitors require a pre 2005 center console and look like THIS.
Everything from comand to TV tuner and rear monitor is fully serviceable through the mercedes stardiagnose system...
