Picture of Phone in new 2005 Console
I have a rolltop center console and I was wondering where the phone is kept in there once installed? Does anyone have any pictures they could share? Just wondering if it leaves no room at all with the drink holders in there.
Thanks,
Gareth

that's bad. my service guy told me the phone lives at the rear of the center console.
just curious, but what did they quote you for price (parts + labour)? pm me please.
i know this has been asked before, but does anyone know if you can use your existing Cingular Motorola V600 (if you unlock it) rather than purchase the $550 Mercedes model?

I don't have a picture, but it mounts to the back wall of the inside of the console. It's almost vertical. If you look real close at your car now, you will see the blanking plate. That's where the connector for the smart cradle will go.

Center Console Box
Well, well, after 1 3/4 years of owning this vehicle I just came to the discovery of a sliding vent door for the intercooling AC in the console box. I knew I should've sat down for a couple of minutes with the manual.
Now I can store my favorite chocolate bars in there without them melting.
By the way, did anyone know of this feature as well?

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
I didn't talk price as I was just curious about it. My 05 has the old type console as it was delivered just before the change over.
I was not able to use my generic V60i and had to buy a MB phone. I was able to keep my MB phone from my 03 and use it on my 05 however.

I read about this somewhere in my manual, but I couldn't find it.
I have an '04 E55, build date of 2/04.
Could you post a picture of the sliding vent door ?
I have the clamshell console, but maybe they "decontented" it ?

I looked at my manual and reexamined the console.
It was always there.
I just couldn't figure out how the vent opens & closes.
Clever Germans.
