Rear Spoiler...Which one???

Which rear spoiler for our cars looks best? I know it's a matter of opinion but if someone has pics of the different brands (Brabus,Carlsson,Renntech,MKB) that would help out..Thx

The E55 doesn't need a spoiler as it lowers itself at high speed.

MB has a spoiler available for the E350 and E500 that looks awesome IMO. I might get it for the E350 maybe even the E55. Check your parts department.

Don't get a Lorinser one. I have a Lorinser spoiler, and although it looks good, I prefer Brabus's decklid spoiler. The RENNtech spoiler also looks great. Both are a lot less round than the Lorinser spoilers and the sharper angles fit the car much more smoothly.

I currently have the RENNtech decklid spoiler and love the look, but I'm disappointed in qualility of construction. It's not noticeable under bright sun, but under indirect lighting (in the garage with the door open), there's surface waviness about a foot in from each end. After the installation, I inspected an uninstalled RENNtech decklid spoiler for a CLS and the same surface problems were apparent. Others' experience with the RENNtech unit may differ, but if I'm going to do an add-on, it has to look like oem. It's got to match the quality, fit & finish of the rest of the car.

In comparison, the Brabus decklid spoiler looks virtually identical (the edge of the spoiler is a bit sharper, less rounded), is more sturdily constructed and there are no surface anomalies. Bottom line, I'm getting a refund on the RENNtech and switching to the Brabus (just waiting on paint).

Is that the three-part spoiler which wraps around the tail lights like eye brows? I must say, I prefer the OEM C55 design ,which wraps over the lip and resembles Carlsson, but it fits better around the middle brake light.
My favourite is Brabus or Renntech - but I see here that Renntech has some quality of finish issues?

Yes its the 3 piece design that wraps slightly over the rear lights. I like this look the best abd the quality of the materials is top notch when compared to Renntech and other aftermarket spoilers for the E.

Thanks for the tip-off about Renntech quality. You've saved me a lot of disappointment. I am really pedantic with such detail and would hate it too.
I will try to get Brabus now! Love the look!

That's the Brabus spoiler. Probably the best looking spoiler for the E55, but it's also the most expensive I know of out of the tuners.

I was going to get a Brabus, but I decided the RENNtech was the best option in terms of pricing & name. I think the Brabus is in the $700 range while the RENNtech is $395 or so.

Well it sounds like Brabus is the way to go. I hate the price but love the look. Renntech is nice also but I'm kinda worried about the fit and finish. Thanks for the info good people.

What a major disappointment, BRABUS! These pictures above are nothing like what I saw today. The brand new spoiler was pre-primed in black with two thiiiin strips of adhesive tape attached underneath. The top deck looked like it had hail damage from end to end or a massive case of terminal cellulite!
If I painted it silver, it would look shocking in full sunlight and totally disgusting under flourescent lighting in my garage. The dealer was totally embarrassed when we unwrapped the spoiler.
All that for, wait for it... Aussie $ 1350 or USD 1025, unpainted, unfitted!
Thank you BRABUS!

Sorry to hear - sounds like you got a lemon. I inspected my Brabus decklid spoiler Saturday prior to installation and it had none of the finish problems you mention. The finish and construction is light years better than the RENNtech I have now (see below):

Guys, these are fiberglass pieces. You are not going to be able to buy the spoiler, put paint on it and expect it to look perfect. It doesn't take much for a body/paint guy to fit the spoiler to your car. They might have 20 minutes into blocking the spoiler then it's ready for paint. I haven't seen to many aftermarket parts that are ready to paint right out of the box. I have the RennTech and it needed a little work to get it straight but, I think it wasn't that bad compared to other products out there.

That's the RENNtech spolier that I'm replacing, not the BRABUS, which will be installed in the next few days.

The paint is fine, the surface waviness is the result of the manufacturing process.

I must have got a on-off dud! I really would like to get BRABUS, but unless I pick it myself on their production line, what guarantee do I have that they don't send me another "reject" from Germany?

There are no guarantees that you'll get something that meets your standards and DJe55 certainly has a valid point about fiberglass pieces. I'd give it to a good body/paint outfit and and have them prep it to your satisfaction.
