Evo IC finishing up...

dremeled off the intake covers on the front. the license plate covers about 20% of the exchanger when flat on ground so front plate had to go. those friggin holes are a mess. the ic reservior was painted/cleared by me, its on the left. and finally the shot with bumper cover back on. its pretty tricky given all the different fasteners and the way the bumper is attached and alligned to the bottom of the front fender was...um...interesting.

Cool deal. Its nice to know there are people out there willing to wrench on their own $90k cars. I know you took your time with this install with all the polishing and other misc. stuff you did in addition to the ki, but I'm curious how many total hours it took just to install the cooler upgrade itself.

Peter B, you didn't need to cut off the intake - I think you posted on this old thread, with pictures.

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/109411-full-intake-snorkel-intake-etc-theory.html

I would undo the few plastic fasteners (lever them out with a flat blade screw driver) and remove the remaining plastic pieces infront of the radiator - they just block airflow to the radiator and wont increase air volume into the intake. Then use the heat resistant foam to stop airflow around the intake mouth.

I've been thinking about making a cone shaped plastic part to push into the intake "mouth", to funnel air from directly behind the grille - coolest air at highest pressure - just what you need for "racing".

yeah, i have every plate from every car ive owned and the fogs are piaa 55w. total hours dedicated to the install so far maybe 11-12 with another 1 or so to go. and oz if you look at the pics i chose to let the insides of the intake tubes alone. mine look like a funnel versus taking them completely off. i figured the funnelling effect should be good for another 40hp or so.

Just had Evo put my cooler on too, works great. Did you notice the noise from the pump- its that super marine pump that's used on boats.

Are you 100% certain about that?
