My wife wants to buy E55...
Hi,
First of all, let me disclose that I am a proud owner of 2000 E39 M5. On the other hand, my wife is currently driving 2003 E320. Couple weeks ago, I, jokingly, suggested that she should test drive E55, since her lease is ending soon. Guess what... She test drove E55 couple days ago, and now she wants to lease one. She feels that it is an appropriate expression of her dominance in our relationship. As she put it, I want to be able to put you in your place, i.e. second place.
My task is to find her a used 2005/2004 E55. There are four requirements: it must be CPO'ed, must be silver, must have gray or black interior and must have a nav system.
Since we live in Toronto, I have been speaking with MB Canada and couple local dealers. Unfortunately, they are having hard time finding a car matching these requirements in Ontario. Apparently, used E55s are selling very quickly. They have found one, but without a NAV system. So, I have asked them whether an OEM NAV system can be retrofitted by a local dealer. Nobody at MB Canada can give me a straight answer. They think that all the required wiring is in E55 already, but they have never done this before.
Has anybody done this? Is it possible? Any help would be appreciated.
Until this issue is put to rest, I am sleeping in the basement.

Check trader.ca there's quite few of them for sale.

Hi,
Too late now..... I was just informed that she has just leased a new 2005 E55 AMG Silver . Apparently, last new 2005 in Ontario. In addition, the sales guy told has to use has brake hard, in order to allow me to catch up in my 2005. This is not going to be easy to accept.
Thank you for the helpful information regarding NAV retrofit. As you can tell this will not be necessary anymore.....

Too late now..... I was just informed that she has just leased a new 2005 E55 AMG Silver . Apparently, last new 2005 in Ontario. In addition, the sales guy told has to use has brake hard, in order to allow me to catch up in my 2005. This is not going to be easy to accept.
Thank you for the helpful information regarding NAV retrofit. As you can tell this will not be necessary anymore.....
