Anyone know how to pull off the TPMS sensor once the tire is removed?
I need to transfer them to my new 19's

TPMS sensors will only work on certain types of wheels. You need to ask your wheel manufacturer if they are compatible with valve-stem TPM sensors. I know that reverse lip design wheels (such as the HRE R series) WILL NOT work with them.

In this case, what i have done in the past is to cut the valve-stem from the TPM sensor, epoxy and band-clamp the sensor to the inside of the wheel.

I know that Victor..but thanks for the clarification. My wheels are authentic 2 piece AMG's with the space provided for the sensors. That's why I wanted to know what has to be done in order to remove them so that I can transfer them to the new wheels.
Any help?
Thanks
Barry

I got some HRE 543R's 19x8.5 and 19x10. I am trying to be patient for some Michelin PS2's as I have read many good things about them, so I might as well wait a few more weeks.

Hey, I'm interested in that wheel in the following package from TireRack:

19x8.5 AMG Double Spoke 2pc Bright Sil w/Mach Lip (FRONT)
19x9.5 AMG Double Spoke 2pc Bright Sil w/Mach Lip (REAR)
245/35ZR19 Continental ContiSportContact 2 Vmax Blackwall (FRONT)
275/30ZR19 Continental ContiSportContact 2 Vmax Blackwall (REAR)

What tires/sizes are you using? I have the E55 wagon and am concerned because most of the 19" tires do not match the load rating of the stock tires. Not that I'm hauling concrete blocks or anything, but these cars are heavy and must really be hard on tires at the limits (imagine four people, lots of baggage, and high speed all together). Though I don't like the factory Contis (and will likely get flamed for even mentioning the "C" word on this forum) I'm wondering if the new Vmax tire will offer any advantages besides it's load and speed ratings...

Tell me more about your wheels; who painted them and what color did you use (matching the car?) -- enquiring minds have to know...

I bought the wheels & tires used for 5 grand off of a kid in La Crescenta, CA.
He ordered them custom from AMG in Germany. He also has a Techtite Grey E55 which he is selling to make way for a CLS55. I made him an offer for the wheels & tires and we struck a deal, then he put back on his factory original 18's. MAN what a difference. The wheels are shod with Dunlop's 245's/275's and runs way smoother & quieter than it ever did with the factory 18's and Conti's. Those Conti's sucked! I'll post pics as soon as I have some time. The car looks sweet.
Now, does anyone know how to pull of those damned sensors??

E55Soon -- wanna post some photos? Sorry to go OT, but I'm very interested in the 19" AMG 2pc wheel. I'm trying to stay stealthy, however, and am not sure -- they may be too flashy for me. I like the fact that my (soon to be completely debadged) E55 wagon is pretty stealthy. It's fun to see people do a double take as they try to figure out what it is. For some reason (the fact you now have a rim/center junction) the 2 pc wheels (AMG & Brabus are the ones I've seen) have a bulkier look to the rim. On the 1pc versions of these wheels the rim tapers away; the 2 pc rims protrude further towards the center of the wheel before tapering back...

Ill post pics hopefully by Tomorrow. You'll see just how hot these babies are.
At first I was consider ing using the 2 piece Titan Grey wheels found on the SL65 especially since those wheels would probably have better resale value. I'm so glad I stuck with these wheels instead. They are the best.
Try this link in the meantime. It's a picture I got from the old owner....
Let me know if it works
