It's very impressive. Some may argue that this engine would be better with boost, but with a 11.3:1 compression ratio, a supercharger would be a VERY risky proposition.
In the meantime, I'll stick to boost. I don't foresee myself trading in my E55 until they make a twin-turbo E63.

Wow...although this no suprise to us, it's really nice to read all the details about the world's most powerful NA V8. First I couldn't believe it and I thought there has to be a more powerful NA V8, but I looked at the new Z06 (505hp, 5 short), Ferrari F430@490hp.
As much as I love the torque in my 5.5 SC motor, I'm looking forward to the better throttle response and smoothness of a NA motor. I can wait to hear more comparisons to the current 5.5 SC motor. The true test is if this new motor can match the quick acceleration number the current 5.5 SC motor puts down.

I have a sick feeling in my warranty that this sucker is gonna be even more than the 40K (that's labor included) the current blown motor costs. None the less, I am sure we will be modding away in no time.

i'LL BE waiting for the duece turbo's!

So what purpose is the twin turbocharged version going to serve? What class is it going to be for? It would be nice to have 2 AMG E classes.

Judging by the pictures, this will be one very, very, very nice motor.
With twin turbos, I think we can say - 1000HP.
Too much power is never enough!

I am definitely looking forward to this new 6.3 motor however, it is probably 2-3 years away. That's ok, I will enjoy the heck out my E55 & soon to come CLS55 in the meantime.
