the reviewer hit it dead on - what it lacks in the looks department, it makes it all up when you hit that "M" button.
the m5 is a fine work of automotive engineering no doubt -- i personally think its been over-engineered in some ways, #1 is that joystick
and maybe they should have used Catherine Zeta Jone's voice for the Sat-Nav, id overlook it then :p

i think the point most of us are making is that its not visually appealing. The lines on these cars dont flow well and seem to resemble a lot of the imports being offered. the headlights reminds me of japanese anime!
No need to be friends, but the worst of enemies have as deep a respect as they have a hatred for each other

BMW aren't the only ones with problems
The M5's direct competitor doesn't seem to be faultless either. Hopefully we can all agree first year cars will NEVER be perfect

I think most Japanese imports have better lines than the new BMWs. In my opinion, the TL, TSX, RL, G35, 350Z, IS, GS, M45, all have better lines better than the 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Mind you, the Japanese products don't really stand out and give you the wow, but at least they are not offensive.
Those ugly eyelids on the 5, no thanks.

hehe no argument from me there, all those cars you listed look nicer to me as well!
the beemers dont scream out "German" anymore to me. those bavarians need to fire the design team or whack them over the head
i was cruisin in my town today and came across an X3 and i almost puked! the only beemer i like now is the X5 and that's holding out from previous designs.

We (Britain) has some of the best standups anywhere in the world ! Don't get me started on our genius comedy, "The Office" !
Anyways, as is the case with many a E55vM5 thread, many of you should, on both sides of the debate should step back and realize that EVERYTHING in life is subjective....

The humour is so dry I feel my skin becoming parched and cracked as I reach for the remote to change the channel :p
Oh, I forgot Ali G and the Kumars at Nr 42. They kick so much ***. Those are comically inclined shows though. The sitcoms are just.... ugh.
:v
