My Banged-up 2005 E55
Friends,
Last night I was driving home (40Mph) and all of a sudden a deer came in front my E55. What a damage!. I just bought it two months back!
Damn, Damn so bloody unlucky.
My beast needs new: hood, Fender, Door ,Front lights, Front bumper, Radiator and God knows what else :-(

Out Of Control!!
Sorry to hear the bad news. That has happened to me twice in the past, but fortunately, not to Mr. E55. Hope the repair goes well. BTW, did you kill Bambi? If so, I guess you have a REAL kill story.

Fresh venison?............people eat Kangaroo in this country! They are like running into moose (so I'm told). Not nearly as heavy but usually come through the windscreen because they are in mid air when the car hits them at >100kph (60+ mph). Very Ugly.
I have a rule that you dont eat anything you can run over!

Were you cruising on the 280?? When I was in HS I lived in the hills near the 280, and a friend and I were just getting onto the 280 and accelerating in his (then) new 911 Turbo, going thru about 100 mph getting onto the freeway we grazed a deer... we're luck to be alive, had it been a head on, we would have been killed for sure.. that freeway is dangerous at night when traffic is low and the critters get out..
edit: I just re-read your post... you were doing 40mph.. so it couldn't have been the 280!

i once got into a bad accident because of an animal (car in front of me stopped hard because of the animal and then i rear ended that car) it was not a good experience but i am glad that i was not hurt. my car was though, badly. good thing that i was wearing seat belt because i was 
at 75 mph.
just glad to see that you are fine and dont worry, it will be fixed. plus, it wasn't your fault.
