DUNLOP track tires R-O-C-K at Eastern Creek!!!
These DUNLOPs shocked everybody last Wednesday. All the cars which pushed me around the circuit last time (on Contis), got lapped on the sixth 2.5 mi lap. You read correctly, I did 7 to their 6 laps, five sessions running.
I have several 20 min long race cam videos, far too long to post here. Tommaey will post a short segment in which I lap a Ferrari, then a Porsche Turbo, a Caterham and a Carrera.
I reeled in the Turbo on the main straight - it was awsome to see that Porsche run out of puff! Nothing beats the E55 at 50 - 125 mph!
The Dunlops pulled 1.13 lateral G's compared to 1.0 G for the Continentals,
which helped even out the odds. The Porsche Turbo was on Michelin Pilot Cup tires, which were my original choice, but, in all honesty, I don't think its driver's heart was in it.
Compared with street tires, the maximum speed down the straight dropped from 140 to 134 mph due to the increased rolling resistance of the sticky Dunlops, but on the first sweeping long turn after the straight I managed to enter at 105 and exit at 110 mph, whereas before it was 85-90 mph, barely holding the line.
The new brake ducts worked well and despite much higher speeds, the "brake ovearheated" warning light came on either on the 8th (cool down lap) or back in the pits.

Rafal - Glad to hear the Dunlap Track Tires were a success. On your "brake ovearheated" warning light not coming on as soon as before, I am sure that the cooling ducts had something to do with it, however the traction control was not working as often, with the Dunlops on, which means that the brakes were not being used as much to control wheel spin, thus, also cotributing to less heat in the brakes.
Just looked on "Tire Rack" for those tires and they were not listed. Where can these tire be found? - Bob

As I said, every little bit helps, and I'd rather have brake ducts than not.
You have to search for RACE TIRE dealers on the internet. You can contact DUNLOP performance division for advice or see people at your local race circuit. There are many other brands of street legal race tires just as good
These are not your "mom & dad" tires..LOL

lol i dont know much about videos. If you could give me some advice on what compression to use with minimal quality loss that'd be appreciated

That might be why all your videos are so large.
I personally prefer Divx, it's very popular.
If you have AIM I can help you get some software to help you compress the files, that way it takes less time to upload them.

I don't have AIM. Can you lead me to any website which have a program that'll convert mov to avi without imprinting "UNREGISTERED VERSION etc" in the middle of the video (effectively ruining it)
