Questions about drifting to the right

Had the car aligned at the dealer last week after I noticed it was pulling to the right. They said the alignment was out, and realigned it. Took it back today because it still wanders to the right, and they tell me that it's normal for an MB to "drift" to the right. That's how MB sets the alignment.

Is this true or am I dealing with morons?

drift

there were many complaints on this board; check on search. They got rid of mine and now it drifts to the left not so bad that I want to try again. I find it difficult to believe that mb designed it this way.Mine was set so that to exit a freeway I just had to let go of the wheel about 100 feet from the exit ramp..

I think you are dealing with morons... However, I think it is "common" that they drift to the right, just not "normal". Mine did that too when I got it and I took it in and they did some new bolt in the suspension somewhere. I think there might be a known service problem about it. Somewhere in recent posts someone posted a link to a site where you could get a list of all the service problems that MB knows of internally, so you could check that list. Mine was better, but not perfect. Recently I had 4 new PS2's fitted and the place that did it did a test of my rims and 3 of 4 were bent (a little). They straightened them and then took 1/16" toe out of the alignment and it feels almost perfect now. So chances are you might be dealing with two or three issues.

Had same problem with both the E500 and E55. Fixed my E55 problem by slapping on 19 inch HREs. Dealer tried twice to fix it but nothing worked, mysteriously the HREs took care of the problem.

MORONS!

It is a very common problem. It used to be if your car has less than 7500, they will align it for free. That might have changed since I had it done. If you have to pay for it, the bolt kit and alignment runs about $300. Also check for bad tires even if they have to dismount and remount them or borrow some from another car that is driving straight. Accept nothing less than perfection.

Damn straight.
Why would it be normal for a car to drift so much that it'll take an exit for you?!

You paid for a Mercedes, and you guys will know that it's got it's expensive upkeep. 300$ for alignment, although it isn't required for other cars, is needed for Mercedes'

This is not your problem. I had the same experience before, and wanna to share with you all.
1. Using the standard 16" rims have no problem with the alignment, when i'm using the 18" rims and the problem comes out.
2. Normally the roads on the streets are not 100% flat, the edges on the both sides must be lower than the middle. Try to drive it on the middle lane in the high way, and you will feel better with your vehical.

True, the roads are crowned one way so water slides off, but the problem doesn't affect other cars I drive and is very evident in certain Mercedes' I drive.

It's an issue IMO with Mercedes' quality control.

Both. LHD in Germany and RHD in Africa.
