Nav problem

This is the 2nd time this has happened... jump in the car, turn on nav and it shows me in a totally incorrect position, heading in the wrong direction. I removed the nav DVD, but that didn't help. There are scratches on my nav DVD, too. I wonder if that's the problem?

Oh well, I knew I wasn't buying a Honda Off to the dealer next week.

Might be the GPS antenna. How many satellites is the nav unit "seeing"?

Push the map button, then watch the number next to the "picture of a satellite". I have seen as many as 7 and as few as none on mine, but as you drive around the number should fluctuate.

I'm amazed.

I took the car to Euro in Germantown yesterday to have them do the first service, fix the NAV problem and also address the squealing front brakes.

They fixed everything, didn't **** up the car at all and got it all done in just a few hours.

That tells you which satellite # that is watching, not how many satellites are watching.

I'll have to dig up the receipt to see what was replaced. Since it's not on my dime, I pay a little less attention to that stuff, other than making sure they don't screw anything up
