Sneakiest speed trap yet.......
Driving down a local street and noticed a Mercedes Troop Carrier military type vehicle in a guy's driveway (not sure if he was headed toward Katrina or just a personal toy)....we slowed down to look at it and then started to get back to normal speed. As I look over to the left my eye catches a figure peaking out from a tree.....it's a motorcycle cop with a remote laser gun. He was at an suburban street intersection, behind a tree, and the motorcycle was parked bout 30 feet down the street off the main drag.
Man, you would never see that coming......I felt like pulling over and saying...okay, that was good.

Believe it or not, I think the police in melbourne are the most stupit people.
Who the hell would park their radar speed camera car in the middle of a traffic island where it is so damn obvious. It's his favourite place, same spot every 3~4 weeks... ... .. .. thats it.. il get a picture next time

My business partner just got caught the other day in Villa Park (Orange County, CA) by a cop who (on foot) stepped out from behind a pair of garbage cans, zapped him, and pointed for him to pull over...

It is my understanding that it is illegal for a policeman to be hidden while monitoring the speeds of vehicles for the purpose of giving tickets.

Okay, so we figured out what the vehicle was.....it was a Unimog.
Wonder what the heck it was doing there. It was newer.....not an oldie.
Weird.
US doesn't use Unimog's...do we??
(This is not actual unit....just matched the vehicle in the driveway)

Out Of Control!!
The U.S. Army did not use them when I was in from 1971 - 91. I did see a German Army vehicle on South Padre Island a few miles north of Mexico in December 99 or 2000. Maybe they invaded and they have made their way to SLC by now. Maybe they are planning to capture the salt flats to use for their own high speed testing.

On my way home the other day, I saw a bike cop hiding behind a church sign (on the church property) zapping cars. It's a residential area, so I always keep my speeds down, but still...

Worst laser deal in my opinion- my Homeowner's Association pays an off duty local cop to run laser in our neighborhood. So our dues are paying for us to get tickets. Gotta luv it.
