Took my car for service, they reflashed my ecu?
I took my car in for service and when i picked it up, they told me they changed the computer or something? The tech was not there and the SA couldnt really explain what they did. Any ideas?

if you don't have a chip upgrade it doesn't matter. w/ our 55's its pretty common for the techs to update the ecu because theres so much crap wrong w/ our cars they have to!

An ECU reflash is done everytime there is a TSB posted.
It could be for a variety of reasons, but they do the updates frequently.
That's one reason why when you get your ECU flashed by a tuner, you better ask them how much they charge to reflash in case your dealer wipes you out.

My service director informs his staff when working my car never to touch the ECU (made him put it in my records). If they have to, it is sent to Kleemann for next day return at no charge

It was probably a battery control module reflash, not an engine control module reflash. There is a bulletin out right now for flashing the Battery control module

They may or may not re-flash everytime you bring the car in. As long as the car is in warranty, you really don't have any choice. It could be nearly anything, not engine performance related as suggested. They may have wiped the adaptives, so yes, it will re-learn and get better.
