Some pics of my E
I finally got the windows tinted. I went with a reflective platinum tint. A nice side effect of the tint is that the windows retained their slight blue color from the factory tint.

Not a mod by any stretch, but it definately improves the appearance of the car and makes the interior MUCH cooler.

HEY WAYNE,
Looks awesome!
I have a '05 CLK500 with the elusive "blue tint" and always wanted to tint my car, but never knew you could still achieve privacy with the blue-ish look.
Could you please let me know a) what percentage you got and b) what the exact (or as close as possible) specification of the tint are (make, model, manufacturer)...
I simply have been waiting for years to see a good tint that emphasizes the blue instead of making dark and purple like other's I have seen.
Thanks for the help,
fellow AMG'er...

Not Brilliant Silver, but Pewter Silver - I tinted my SL using the same tint...

It's 35%, platinum plus. I will call over to the tint shop and ask them the manufacturer.

Out Of Control!!
I was considering getting my windows tinted platinum silver but was always afraid of getting pulled over by cops. Where did you get it done and have you had any problems with the cops?
VERY nice stable and your E55 is HOTTTTT!!!!!!! Do you ever drive down M street? I think I might have seen you there before.

I just got it done last week, but my experience has been positive WRT window tint. I have 13% on my pickup and 18% on my Z06 and haven't been hassled. The Platinum on my Benzes is 35%, plus whatever the factory put on, so it's pretty close to legal here in MD.
Doctor Tint in Frederick did the work. They also did a full interior detail on the SL - they did a fantastic job. Some of the best interior work I've seen. My wife is pretty hard on her car and they cleaned up all of her mess

I thought platinum tint is illegal in MD no matter what percentage (I'm actually pretty sure about that unless the laws changed). Legal black tint is 50% front, 35% rear, and anything all the way in the rear. My bro has 20% all the way around (including the windshield) and he has never been pulled over. Do you have any pics of the vette?
