'03 G500, '13 G63, '17 GLS63,
Let me ask you this. Your father bought you the car, right? What do you think he would he say if he found out you were lending out your $80k car to your friends?

I'd feel better about it if it was a really good friend and he wanted to borrow it. But RENT??? you know what people do to rental cars. And he wouldn't feel guilty 'case after all he is paying.

Aside from the great advice already offered, it is likely that your auto insurance policy would not cover a loss if you "rented" the vehicle to him...check your policy...probably listed in the fine print under "for hire" or something along those lines.

He would be covered if you let him borrow the vehicle for free.

I'd say: Let me rent your girlfriend for the night first. If she's good, you can rent the car from me and since she has already paid me, no need for money (if something was to happen to the car and since there was no money exchanged, your ins co would have to cover the damages). If she's bad then that's too bad, no E55 for you!. Either way you'll *** out ahead

j/k no flames please!

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
Matthew,

I just saw Ferris Bueller for the hundredth time and couldn't help thinking that your "friend" might treat your E55 like the attendants at the car park treated Cameron's father's Ferrari.

Power does strange things to people.
You might offer to drive him around and/or double date. This might be a gracious out and preserve your friendship.

But the thing is, if I do let him, should I make him sign something, basically saying you wreck it you buy it, or would that be worth absolutely nothing?
The only time I will let anybody valet my car is if I know where they live, so that I can beat the crap out of them afterwards if they scratch it...

What he said.

You're in high school, but even into my 20s with 20s friends, the weirdest sh*t would happen when I lent out my car. Once, my best friend who needed it for going to work and back (5 miles away) managed to put 200 miles on it while I was out of town - turns out she had lent it to her boyfriend and he must have really enjoyed driving it around ...

Another time I don't know what my baby had been thru, but I found a switchblade type knife wedged into the crevise of the backseat? Didn't even want to know about that one.

Don't charge him a dime and just chauffer him and his date around. Make sure to find the hat.

I agree, offering to chauffer him around gets you off the hook on the friendship. If he says no so much the better. Are there really NO luxury cars for rent in Mississippi?!
