Delimma...what would you do in my situation

Okay, one of my buddies homecoming is coming up next weekend and he's is wanting to rent an "exotic" car. Problem is, WE LIVE IN MS! No exotic car rental places. So he asked if he could rent my E55 for the night. What would do/say? As always, you opinions are always valued.

How good of a friend is he?

There's probably only two of my friends at school whom I'd let them drive my car.

No Way!

If someone is looking to rent an exotic car, most likely he doesn't have the money to buy one nor he has ever driven one. (I'm guessing). Therefore I wouldn't consider renting my e55 to someone who doesn't know how to drive it.

He is going to be flooring it left and right and braking like crazy!

I would definitely not do it.

Well, the only reason I have given it though is because he valets cars, and I know for a fact he has valeted a couple of my dad's friends cars (i.e.- Lamborghini Gallardo, Maserati Quatroportte, AM DB9, Ferrari 355)which really says nothing because all he does is park them. But the thing is, if I do let him, should I make him sign something, basically saying you wreck it you buy it, or would that be worth absolutely nothing?

What car does he drive? Trade cars. He wrecks it, you keep his for the time being. :p

I don't care who it is, I would never trust anyone that much, no matter how cold that sounds of me to say. There's always a risk.

Hell, some members here barely let even their wives drive it. :p

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
Valet parking is one thing............but possible drinking (and don't tell me he is not) and driving the WORLD's FASTEST PRODUCTION SEDAN should automatically be a red flag.

Your not questioning your trust of your friend.......just the situations he will be involved with.

Good decision. Obviously I would've said "No" on the spot. Who knows what could've happened if the car was returned to you... love stains in the back seat?

Your stock brokers name is Jose? ,,, WOW mine too, but he doesn't drive a Porsche... (JK) Anyways, when I get my car it will not be loaned. Oh and I have never nor will ever let a valet touch my car ( so your friend has two strikes). I used to be a Chauffeur, and I have seen how valet's get the most of their jobs; if you know what i mean...

Friends don't let other friends drive their E55...would you let your friend take out our your teenage daughter? Bad analogy...but you get the point.

He needs to sign a contract drawn up by either you or your Lawyer preferably. Friend or not, you need your *** covered with this one.

Personally, I wouldnt do it.

Exclamation nope

if he is your true friend he shouldn't even be asking to drive your 90K car. one thing is to ask you to drive it with you in it, but to have it for the night with women involved. you know his head is going to start spinning and he'll be like "let me show you what this baby can do", especially that he vallets the cars he knows then exactly what the car is capable of.

he shouldn't have even asked you in the first place and spared himself the trouble. how about a limousine? that should be fine for him and he can drink all he wants safely.

good decision on not letting him drive it, no matter how akward it might be to tell that to your friend, but if he is a true one, he will definitely understand your choice.

Not just no, but *UCK NO!!! Think of it this way: Is there ANYTHING good that can come from loaning your car??? Now the opposing question: Can anything BAD happen??? 'nuff said.

Maybe he could borrow one of the valet exotic cars for the night or pay you for your services as a driver for the night, no? LOL

Man Haynes..you are not kiddin!!!

I searched for 30 mins and I really believe there is not ONE sports car in the entire state of MS for rent.

Usually Hertz at least has a Jaq XJ you can rent and beat on for the weekend.

Wow, NOTHING!!

Ive been screwed so many times by doing favors for friends, it makes me cross eyed.. Most people don't have respect for other people's things. I would respectfully decline.

I would say no.... but depends on how you trust your friend if you want to play along, I would first counter offer.....

Daily rent is $500 (or whatever you think reasonable).
Daily mileage is 30 miles
Deposit $100K
You scratch, ding, stain, make the interior dirty, stone chip, etc. etc., I keep the deposit, the car is yours, or to your discretion, you can return it to me

j/k..... of course not.... I wouldn't even let my wife drive my E (even though it's no longer the most expensive car I have right now) if not in emergency.
