I'd say 85 miles is new enough

I'm digging the color
But this one looks even meaner in silver with the gunmetal wheels. This one's got a few more miles. 821

Jakpro, you sure it was a Gran Sport and not the regular Coupe? The two door Maserati aren't necessarily one and the same. The Gran Sport is the, well, sportier version.
Sure is a sweet car, though. But, like I said, if you can afford an E55, the Maserati shouldn't be out of reach.

This one has over 2k miles and is selling for a bit over 111k.

I would not want to run against a "sports car in the twisties" with my E55. Then again you dont find sports car drivers who know how to drive very often so he likely would have no idea how to drive.

I much prefer my E55, but I gotta admit, I really love the sweet sounds of the Maser going through the gears (no wonder, since Ferrari did the engine design). I also think I'm one of the few that actually likes the Cambiocorsa tranny.
Only way I'd buy a Maser is used - as many have noted, their depreciation is fierce!
Just my two cents worth, I just traded in my 2003 maserati coupe for a 2004 e55 a month ago and I have to say, the maserati was a sweet car. It was more of a sports car and felt and sounded more exotic than the e55, but the quality was not that good, and to be honest, the e55 is faster in a straight line, and is more comfortable qnd versatile 90% of the time. They are two different cars, with their respective strenghts and weaknesses. I preffer the e55 because it is more versatile, but I also have a Saleen S-351 for trackday fun.
The new Maserati's are much improved over your Biturbo. I think you should give them a chance at redemption. Someone shouldn't judge new Porsches if they had a bad experience with a 924.
Et al:
I sat in a Gransport and have driven the new Quattroporte. The Gransport felt a bit too tight for me. The interior had all these great details but the materials felt and looked a bit strange compared to the beautiful leather in the regular models. I would consider it a pretty good alternative to "common-place" Porsches (for instance I literally see 10-12 996's a day and I am on the road for a total of about 45min-1hour). I see maybe 1 Maserati every other week...maybe. The Gransport is a sporting GT car (not a sports car) with a great racing heritage, exotic engine/sounds and handsome body (my opinion). It is not a great alternantive for those too far outside the Ferrari/Maserati dealer network area.
Would I ever get one?...maybe in a moment of weakness ... while intoxicated by the sound of its exhaust combined with the dealer cleverly sliding a contract under my pen.
Is it really a competitor to an E55?...not really...more aimed at a CL55/ BMW 650ci/911. The CL55 would crush it in a straight line race. However, the handling on the Gransport is really impressive (check out Road & Track slalom figures).

Of course i'd probably take the E55.

This month's EVO ran a comparison of the Quattroporte, the Alpina B5 and the Cadillac CTS-V. Very interesting reading. The Q ran their test track faster than the other cars, and even faster than the new M5 they tested. That says something about that car's handling.
Something else that I found interesting about EVO in general - they now dyno their test cars to see how the actual hp compares against the manufacturer ratings. Too many instances of a car's performance not making sense given the advertised hp. Maybe US car mags should consider that as well.
