Hey BMW - have you seen the new Jaguar ads?
Well in the M5's case: "Ugly Kills Everything"
Bottom Line - I've never dated a girl I didn't think was at least somewhat attractive - even if she had great "skills" (...well not for long anyway!).
...so I'm sorry Mr. Bangle et. al. but until your styling approaches something remotely attractive I'll just keep looking at the prior M5 and continue to wonder what the hell happened! Time to look for a new job Mr. Flame Surface.
In the meantime I'll drive my E55 and 993 widebody and continue to sneak peeks into the garage late at night.
As a former lover of the blue propellor brand I just had to get that off my chest...

I agree regarding the M6 but it's almost like I can "look past" the styling of the M6 because it's such a great car otherwise. Then I start thinking - why should I have to "look past" anything at $100k?
When I was a kid the 635csi and the M6 performed great AND looked great. I just think the company has made a big mistake... just my $.02
I fell in love all over again.
(well, not b/c of the car.... b/c of a truck who cut me and brake). May it rest in peace

the ugly chick with "tricks" comparison is perfect. I still see myself calling up that "ugly" chick when I really wanna have fun.

The M5 is a car in a class where it needs to be a 'racecar' for the everday driver. If you can bear to drive it only on the weekends or some crap like that, than to me, the car has missed the target audience, and failed.
It's been said hundreds of times, the guys who buy E55s don't because they drive an E55 once a month at the track, but because they can drive their cars everyday, with business associates, with chicks in the back, with some gardening tools in the back, and then when they are done rape some 11 second Vette's and Camaros and then get kicked off the track for not running with a roll cage
We have 2 kids, wife drives the 750 with a baby seat and we have an Escallade for the long trips with the kids so the M5 won't be an issue.
The new M3 is a whole other story. It is tempting though with the 400HP V8 and SMG III. I might consider that if I can find another cheap parking spot around town. However, the butt-line is still the major problem for exterior looks......
Honestly, the ride of the E55 is as rough as I'm prepared to go as I mainly drive in the city and have little to gain from the stiff suspension. The 545i sports package was already too tiring for me.
Babies ride in the Odyssey Touring or the Audi allroad. Hard to beat quattro in bad weather and sliding doors for family trips.
The M5? I don't mind the rear or side but the front headlights are just unacceptably ugly.
