1/4 mile times for 03 and up e55's(w211's)

Best run so far for my stock 05 pewter e55:

60' 2.031
1/8 8.099
mph 90.95
1/4 12.381
mph 114.92

This was hot lapping the car with zero cool down and 1k rpm launch's.Im gonna try 2k next time out and see if I can get an 11 second slip.Im certain its there.Car is every bit as impressive as my bolt-on pump gas/alky GN.

K40 is installed and only mod planned is CAI for now.

Whats your best 1/4??

We had a track day here in MD today and I ran the following best time...

RT - .607
60' - 1.778
330 - 5.118
1/4 - 12.209
MPH - 116.18

Bone stock, 4400 miles, stock Conti tires @ 28psi in the rear, hotlapping (this was 3rd pass in less than 9 mins) Ran a string of 12.25s and .26s back to back, too.

60'...1.80
1/4...12.01
mph...116

i was running every 20 min. or so...12.18 was the slowest that night

my timeslips are on dragtimes.com

btw...i use to have a GN and TTA...the benz likes to be cool when running...just like the turbo cars!

good luck!

What I don't understand is how your guys stock times are so low, with such great 60's... 1.7 and 1.8??? I've raced two different stock e55's and got them by 5 - 7 car lengths. My best et was 12.29 @ 117 with a 1.99 60'

elevation and temp play a big part also...i see your from vegas...what was the temp when you ran...and you're at 2200'...is your 12.29 corrected?? if you ran 117 at elevation and some heat, you're making some power...but no matter how much power you have, most races are won in the first 60'...it's hell to play catch up.

i race at hrp...elevation is 29 feet and the temp was 65.

john

It's not corrected for elevation and it was about 70 degrees out when I posted the 12.29... like you said, it's all about the 60' and with a 2.0 60', i'm definitely playing catch up with your 1.7 and 1.8's. Time for some drag radials.

Must be horrible drivers if you beat em by 5-7 car length's.

The air/water IC on these cars make it easy to hot lap em(IC is still cool to the touch after a WOT blast, just like a GN with meth injection)

I know my car has a 11 second slip in its future stone stock, just gotta get my 60' down.

Very impressive time for stock. I have not seen a E55 yet with such a AWESOME time You have a very strong car

My best time yesterday running 19" rims w/street tires (worst set up for 1/4 runs)

0-60 1.76
330 5.027
1/4 11.878
trap 120.95 mph

I am sure if I went to a smaller rim w/dr's or slicks that I would be in the 11.6 range easily. My beast is running very strong with trap speeds close to 121/122.

Thank You KLEEMANN

2014 GL 350 on order
Dragsters: please give me some tips for getting better times. My best was 12.7 with 2.00 60'. Trap speed was 112. Launched in 'C' mode on tranny, ESP on, power braking to 1800-2000 rpm's. Stock tires at stock inflation, avoided water box and no burn out pre-staging. Thanks in advance-Joker

My best thus far has been a 12.07 @ 116.85, with a 1.881 60 foot time. I have a couple of runs in the 12.1X and 12.2X at 117 plus mph and a 12.09 at 116 and change. Pretty funny when a 12.3 leaves me dejected.

I was planning on heading to E-town today for some runs, but it was too nice out (and too warm) for racing. Hopefully, we'll get some crisp air in the next two weekends. Otherwise, I have to wait until March for my pursuit of the 11 second bone-stock timeslip.

Joker - You need to be in S mode. C starts you out in second gear. I suspect based on your "low" e.t. that you are probably tripping your esp with your 2,000 rpm launches. Launch at 1,200 rpm and roll into the throttle. Or you may just be racing in bad air.

............I am currently looking for tire and wheel combination for my W210 E55 S7. I have been able to get a 12.28 1/4 mile time from second gear with 1.99 60ft time. I'm very traction limited even with LSD and BFG's. I will be interested in knowing what tire and wheel set you up you are planning on using so I can try them in my car. Like you I am impressed by the W211 guys posting 1.7 60 ft times. Thanks.

Wow!!! A lot of strong running stock cars. I assume that those with the low 1/4 times were not using traction control? I think my car stock ran a 12.6 at 114.5 (stock tires, stock tire pressure and TC on).

I was only able to get one run in yesterday before the start of ugly weather. The run was completed with stock tires, pressure and TC on. I think my trap speed should be about 2 mph higher. The track is about an hour away and I ran the car as soon as I got there. Next time, I'll let the car cool down before I make a run.

Spero, was a ZO6 at your track? If so, how did it show?

Hey Enzom,

Could you let me know when your going to E-town. I would'nt mind heading over there my self and taking a couple of runs.

Chris (cte40) Maybe you want to head out there also.

the new C6 Z06 looks very nice in person. I did get a chance to run it a few times (took it easy, since it was not my car), It was so easy to light up those 325 monster rears.

If you look in the events section under MD track day you will see a few pics.

Here is my best run of the day in my heavy *** 19"rims with street tires. Will be running slicks next time that g mam will lend me on 16" rims. The same rims
that our man Derek runs. Sould see 11.6
