haters crazy
I like the c/f interior but the wheels I'm not liking too much. Maybe if you just powdecoated the Monoblocks the grey color you like.

Looks awesome. Maybe powdercoating not the entire rim but on the outer edges of the spokes. Maybe something like this, but grey.

So how's dat DVD player? I was looking @ that one. Given its size, does it have a wired remote pick-up and input that plugs in the back? Thanx.

Everything looks great........except the AMG logo on the glove box isn't needed and you are sucking hot air with the location of the intake. I'd try a different air box to get fresh air from the front of the car. Other than those two things, the car is incredible!

............thanks for the responses. You are probably right about the AMG logo on the glove box as well as the air intake. I am in conversation with a member of this forum to purchase from him a Groupe-M intake.

......yes the half DIN DVd player has a remote receiver that plugs into the back. The unit itself is controlled either by using the physical buttons infront of the unit, or via wireless remote control when glove box is closed.

Dvd/tv Comand?

How can I get the COMAND unit that is tv/dvd capable?? I want! Also, is that your Sirius antenna behind the rear passenger headrests? Was thinking of getting one, but don't want the antenna slapped on my trunklid.

You need a European spec COMAND that is hooked up to a TV Tuner or AV gateway in order to play DVD on your COMAND screen. Try http://www.mbenznl.com

...........you can get the Euro comand already version coded to enable Tv in motion from various sources: MBdoctor.com, Mbenznl.com, Braybrooks.co.uk.......ask for Neil, the owner very nice and knowledgeable gentleman.

..........You can get the MB TV tuner with 2/V inputs from any of the above sources.

........alternatively, you can have your own North american Comand enabled for TV. This can be done by NAV-TV.com.

Since your car is a year 2000, certain early comand's are unable to have TV's enabled. If you choose to go with the Nav-TV option, you will need to have your Comand pulled and read the "Q" number to them to make sure yours can be version coded.

........Yes, that is my sirius antenna behind the rear passenger headrest. Works flawlessly. Except perharps for the CL and S-class that have some kind of satelite and radar absorbing windshields, I have never understood why people have their srius or XM antenna on the trunk or roof of their car.

I don't like the cheap look of that hood "///AMG" badge and the emblem on the glove box, the other ones that I have seen are of much higher quality. Otherwise, it's a very handsome car. Good Job!

...........thanks. I am not really into larger rims. Further, I race this car and as far as I can tell, BFG makes the largest diameter drag radials and they are 18's. Very happy with 275/35/18 BFG drag radials with the current rims. However, I do need more info on how to run real drag slicks slicks. I need info on rim and drag slick combination to fit my car without modification of the inner wheel well.

..........thanks, it is the exact badge that is on the ashtray cover and and in that location seems to engender more positive feedback. The quality is very good. I do agree that it is a bit too conspicous on the glove box and will be removing it.

Have you consider the AMG hood emblem that other board members have? The one that is solid brass with engraved AMG logo, not just the printed one.

I have this one my ashtray cover:

The CF AMG logo is supposed to be stuck on the side of the front fenders, right?

The car is real hot, congrats. One of the nicest i've seen, besides 1 appearance issue and one electronic suggestion.

The rims don't flow with the car. They look too small and they look cheap. Other than that, I see you have an Ipod FM modulated. Why not get a switch installed that would allow you to switch between the ipod and sat radio on the aux input?

4 wheeled car.
The "CF" he has is photogenesis.

http://www.vcfinishes.com/

Anyway, while that part is kinda cool.... that car looks pretty nasty to me. Sorry, I guess it's all personal taste, don't think I'm an ******* because of my opinion. i'm sure people hate my car as well.

You should've gotten this hood badge

And added some REAL CF pillars

.........smiling. Thats kinda funny that the only way I could have done it to make it look nice is if I had done to my car, exactly what you did to yours. Thanks for your comments anyway.

...........thanks. If you notice, the aux input is laying next to the half DIN DVD player in the gove box. It is very convenient for easily hooking up multiple audio inputs to the Comand. listening to recorded voice memos, listening to dictations etc which I do a lot in my work. I made a strategic decision to leave it that way. Both the IPOD and sirius are FM modulated at different frequencies that one those not have to turn the satelite receiver off to listen to the other. You just have to take my word that the sound quality is excellent, perharps not as good as it could have been with direct AUX connection. As for the rims, as you can see many forum members share your view. I respect that. But, I actually love those rims. This is perharps the difference between real life and pics. In real life I get the most compliments on the rims.

............also since you ask, the IPOD dock is both XM modulated and has the female end the 1/8 pin jack you are refering to which can be used to connect the IPOD to the AUX input in the glove box. It is located behind and to the right of the IPOD dock. I chose not to use it for the reason I gave above. Further, friends that come into my car, simply dock their IPOD on the dock right there. No wires or cables. Swapping of IPODS is easy and lessy messy.
