M5 1/4 Mile Times, which is faster E55 or M5...
Be patient for 5 more days folks and we'll settle it.
I promise I won't PhotoChop any slips :p
can someone run from a dead stop to about 140+ and see which car really pulls away...
we all know the M5 with its high RPM and 7 speeds should win... I just don't really believe from a DIG the results would be as much as seen in the video posted by GUSTAV.
and if someone has a K1, or any chip/pulley E55, please try to run the same race from a stop and from a roll....
I trully believe the videos we have seen from Europe are not the real story.
my assumptions are the following:
from a stop to 140mph, the STOCK E55 will have a margin to about 120 and will loose it around 130+, but not more than 1 car lengths...
from a stop to 140mhp the Chip/PUlley will have a larger margin to about 120 and continue to edge the stock M5 maybe loose it after 140 by half a car..
I think after 150+, the M5 will pull ever harder... the 5 spd will not work in our favor.
these are just my assumptions based on all the post from current M5 owners, videos, magazine reports..
As a future owner of a W211, I really think the E55 will still hold its own around town and freeway driving... which is my primary purpose for this car. I don't plan to take the E55 to Fontana Speedway and lap the 2 mile oval at TOP speed...

If we have enough track to keep it safe we will keep the hammer down past the 1/4 mile mark.
Sometimes the track will get upset if we do not shut down once the 1/4 mark is reached.

I'm planning to come down. I had talked to Spero about bringing my Z06, since Capitol's pad hooks like a $2 *****, but I can bring my stock E for comparison. Last time at Capitol, I ran a 12.20@116 in my E. I have about 5500 miles on my car.
I can already predict that from a dig the M5 is not gonna catch a K2 car from 0-150, M5 may get closer but the gap will be too great for the M5 to overcome.
I don't believe many folks have driven a K2 car to fell how strong it really is.
Funny thing is my buddy has 2200 miles on his stock 06 E55 and we ran a few times on Sunday. Off the line, that's a given. From a rolling start, both in 1st gear, the M5 actually has the advantage because the E has too much TQ, but the M5 has to rev the **** out of its engine though.
Friday should be fun.

i agree.. i think after 120+ or after passing the 1/4 mark, thats when the M5 should start pulling harder than the E55..
K2 is an obvious power advantage... but I was just wondering on Stage 1, K1 or RennTech 1, meaning just simple pulley and chip.
The LSD is nice, but as posted from various K2 members, the verdict is still out on its actual performance improvement. Headers would be nice too, but pricey.
The point being, is that MAYBE a simple pulley and chip will be able to keep up with the M5, which will run us $3k to $4k. A very nice price to pay for added assurance.
This is yet to be determined and proven and its all assumptions at this point.
If it turns out the M5 beats the stock E55 and pulley/chip E55... more power to the M5, but I'll still buy one.

His M5 has over 1200 miles and LC has been enabled. He will be running with full power
We have a guy here in NJ on this list that has ran a 12.07 bone stock at Englishtown Raceway Park NHRA drag stip. He as the official time slip to prove it
The M5's can kiss our **** :p

As for 0 to 150, I'm not up for that as we would have to do that on RT. 50 or something...not really into street racing anymore as I'm a bit too old for that and I don't really care who's d1ck is bigger per say.

We'll never know I guess cuz I won't drive that fast on public roads...sorry folks, don't mean to be chicken ***** but I just won't do it beyond 120 (and that's if the road is EMPTY)
