Long run and E55k engines.

Guys i have a dilema, need some input to make my decision, so lets say i buy E55 and tune it ( thats the only reason i want e55k, for more power) Lets say i'll go with K3/4 + LSD.

lets say the car will have 15.000 kms on it, i like to drive my cars hard time to time. With all that additional HP do you think the engine life is gonna suffer alot? I want a car that will run 4/5 years trouble free.

please post your comments!

As long as the engine is properly serviced should be no problems at all..

You're only adding 3lbs of boost and if your running the IC mod you're in better shape there. Problem with your question is you can't predict the future. The car should be fine but look at some of the cars on the road that are bone stock that have problems. You're just never gonna know for sure. Buy the car mod it and have fun with it.

Absolutely! If you completely beat the nuts off your car, slamming the rev limiter every time you drive it you may exprience less engine life - wether your car is stock or not! If you beat on the car, but properly (i.e. when it is fully warmed up, not extremely abusive) you will not have any more problems than you would stock! We have done a lot of Kleemann upgrades (mostly K1,K2) and have not had one problem to date...

A properly tuned supercharged engine should outlast a very high strug NA engine. The supercharged engine is only under boost maybe 2% of the time you are driving........except DerekFSU! Anyway, the vast majority of the time the supercharged engine will operate as a low compression NA engine. Of course, abuse or improper tuning can be a big equalizer in engine longevity.

Hey Erik, what's up? Car is running great. May be talking to you about an LSD soon. Went down to MD yesterday and could not launch the car. Too cold and too much power. Had it dyno'd in the morning and it laid down around 485 rwhp and somewhere around 545 lb/ft of TQ!!

Excellent - glad to hear it's running well. The lsd is a nice upgrade especially when you have Kleemann K2 power!! Nice dyno numbers!! What type of dyno was that on? Talk to you soon.

No problem! A lot of my customers "freak out" when they hear the word camshaft, because everyone associates a cam with internal engine parts, engine tear down, etc. While it is certainly an internal piece, it is a nice clean drop in and only takes about 9-10 hours to do. It really isn't that big of a deal. And as far as the exhaust goes, that is usually one of the first things most people do to their cars - a simple bolt-on. I say go for it, the only regret you'll have is that you didn't do it sooner!

Yep - per Kleemann's site:

K1 Pulley + ECU
K2 Pulley + ECU + Headers
K3 Pulley + ECU + Headers + Camshafts + Complete Exhaust System

I would think the K3 should be in the low 11s - maybe 11.2-11.4 so I would say yes you should be able to hang with a 65!

Either the local Kleemann dealer is smoking you or the parent company hasn't updated its website.

So, it is $10,000 more for the K4 (or K3 according to their web site) over the K2. I hope it is worth it. I am considering the full treatment myself. I am not sure if I am going to do it to my E or replace it with a CLS55 or an SL55 (either one with the 030 package) and then have it done. I think either one of them would be incredible with the full K system.

Looks like the K2 is the best value of the 3. Personally, I will be going with K2 and LSD and some sort of cooling upgrade. I don't like to mix and match, but I would seriously consider the Evo cooling upgrade.
