Mark this one off your list. It is from ForMyMercedes.com. As delivered it cannot be secured on the W211 e55 hood. The quality is very good but it looks like I need to send her back.

Has any one tried this AMG 'New" emblem from ForMyMercedes.com?

The metal emblem that you see in the first picture has an adhesive backing. It is suppose to fit into one of two mounting plates they also send you. The problem is that the mounting plates are too large in diameter to fit into the recess on the underside of the hood. I even thought about gluing the emblem on but then I imagined it popping off at 100mph and crashing into my windshield.

Mario has retired to an island in the Caribbean with the money he made selling you guys these $150- emblems!

It has been suggested to me that some of my comments about Mario could be construed as personal attacks and were unwarranted and unprofessional. In re-reading some of my comments, I tend to agree (though the above comment about the Caribbean was obviously tongue in cheek - he has not retired to an island). I want to publicly apologize to Mario and retract any remarks that were personally offensive. My opinions about the product he is selling, and the price he is charging, however, remain unchanged.

I just found the same emblem on EBAY. Look at it its exactly the same. It's only $10.00 free shipping. I thought about buying all 99 of them and selling them on these forums for $100.00. But then I felt bad, so I decided to share it with everyone. Here is the LINK:

For everyone who spent $150.00 Oh well. Just buy another one and you got 2 for $160.00.

Thats more of a key chain item, minus the key and the chain part.No way to mount it or fasten it to the car.All you can do is sticky tape it on.

3M two-sided emblem tape from Pep Boys works great and is long-lasting (I've mounted both my hood badge {the exact one "dimit" got on E-Bay, only grey not mustard} and CF rear diffuser with this stuff).

I was recently given one of Mario's badges to evaluate and I must report that it is a good quality piece. The most notable difference between his and the E-Bay ones (aside from the screw post which does make for easy and secure installation, and negates any worries for those who may not trust the 3M two-sided tape), and what I like best about it, is that Mario's has a thick and glossy clear-coat that will protect the pigments from fading with multiple washings and elemental exposure. The E-Bay ones don't have this, and my E-Bay badge has faded a bit over the last year and a half that I have had it, but I bet you can probably add your own clear coat to the E-Bay ones for the price of a cheap can of paint from the hardware store (while you are there buying the 3M tape or the screw/bolt/washer set-up if you know how to solder something like this without frying the paint on the "face" side).

Still with all that being said. You could buy TEN of these and replace them every year and it still wouldn't cost as much as the other one. You could just JB Weld a stud on it and it would be super strong. TAPE + JB WELD total= $10.00 plus emblem = $20.00 so you could buy 7 of them.

I totally agree! Let's find a vendor and I'll go partners with you on this venture (you do the welding, though, and I'll apply the clear coat!)! Hah!

Where do you get these wheel caps? Sorry if I missed the answer somewhere above, and thanks for the help!
