My E55 car weighed in today 4,025 and now down to 3,995
Well The car weighed in at 4,025 but right after that I purchased a light weight battery that reduced the weight by 30 more lbs to 3,995. I also don't have a spare tire. I think it's lighter than the E60 M5, lol.
Right Front - 1,077
Left Front - 1,113
Right Rear - 933
Left Rear - 903
(1/4 tank of gas)
Front - 54.4%
Rear - 45.5%
I have a 2003 w/o the pano roof and big 19 inch wheels. If I get the brake kit I can see getting the car down to 3,960...would be nice to get it down to 3,900 but not sure how to w/o screwing up the interior.
Has anyone else weighed their car?
Looks like 4,087 is the figure I find on the net.

Each 100 lb drop in car weight is like 10 rwhp gain.

So, if I have this right, the quoted weights are pretty close to reality on a percentage basis ??? This is kinda a bummer for me, my experience with hacking around with 4.2 Audis is that they are actually lighter than quoted.
Guess I have to live with the knowledge that my CL is truly not "nimble and svelte" at its 4300 lb quoted weight.
An item I've been considering that you may have already thought about - although individually each piece is light, there is a lot of "stuff" in the trunk area for cosmetics that taken together might add up to benefits. The cover for the spare tire, covers for tail light access, cover on the trunk itself, etc. 'Course, this would be taking weight off the back in my case, but I figured I would go that route before the interior.
Oh, and I have a plethora of aero/brush guards that attach under the floor boards that could be removed if someone were really serious about quarter mile acceleration. They are so well integrated to the bottom of the car structure that it wasn't obvious to me that they were removable until I noted the bolt reliefs.
I'm not going to remove the guards on my car, but you may have something similar on the E55. They cover the fuel lines as well, so there is probably a good safety reason for keeping them on for daily commutes (although this is the first car I've had that has carried this guard thing to this extreme). They run the length between the wheels.

loljust kidding...
Try removing the stereo system..there are lighter speakers...I believe E class has 10-12 speakers(big heavy magnets). You can easly reduce 10 pounds from replacing the stock speakers with high quality lighter ones. Fiber glass hood is also something you may think about...some aftermarket fiberglass hoods are available for mbs. Backseats headrests are also about 10 pounds or more

I had the 680 14lb battery on my S4...no problems...but others have had problems with that battery in the winter w/o driving the car at least every other day which is why I went with the 925.

This one was 25 lbs.
I also took out the back rear lid which weights 6 lbs and now have even more trunk space. Groceries fit neatly in the new well and don't slide down. I do not think I will be putting it back in.

Damn...thanks for showing me the link...
6lb kit on a stock 6.1L Hemi motor produces:
500 rear wheel horsepower & 507 rear wheel torque
For 6K you get 500rwhp...more than any E55 except for Derek's car...not bad for modern muscle. Its amazing that 6 psi provides 500 rwhp when we need to push 12-14 psi just to get to 485 rwhp. I guess its the 6.1L engine.

Is it using a centrifugal ??? A way back, there was a cool old Mustangs and Fast Fords article that discusses the benefits of systems like our Lysholms versus centrifugals from a standpoint of area under the torque curve. They basically tested several configurations on the dyno against a baseline.
