When you install the works from a radio you need to install a radio receiver in the left rear trunk area, new wires from there to the COMAND. The radio has all this in the back the radio. The nav has a display, a radio module (audio gateway - also speaker amp) and a map module (DVD drive).
The Euro upgrade is just USA to Euro display plus some coding.
If you just have radio then its a big job. To make it really worth your while can i suggest you throw some extra cables in for the sake of not doing it again.
- iPOD
- Parking assist
- TV
- COMAND
- Premium Sound system (harmon kardon)
- UHI / MHI phone (may already be there)
- Voice recognition (may already be there)
Can all be wired at the same time and the wires add very little to the overall cost of the total package. Certainly in terms of labour it is less than that. Look at the cost of these pre-wiring and upgrades in conjunction with the COMAND quote and see if you dont get better value spending more.

I need to just shut up and trust Steve. I think one of the most confusing parts is what exactlly I need to play DVD's and watch local TV in the car.
I need to just shut up and tell Steve what I wanna do and he'll do it.
It just got confusing when he started asking, so you want Euro or non, tuner or no tuner.......
Can't wait to hook up with Steve.
Can you post a picture of your head unit? Does it look like this?

If you have this, then it would be a huge job, but there's nothing Steve can't do.
For you to play DVD and watch TV in your car, you'll need:
1. Euro COMAND
2. TV Tuner
3. Nav Drive
4. all the wiring harness, antennae and miscellaneous nuts & bolts associated
Optional DVD Changer in trunk as well as Rear Seat LCD Screen
Steve says it can be done.....around 3750 last time I asked, months ago, for Euro Command with Nav and DVD....then another 1800 for TV Tuner
How much is the DVD of death...(meaning the Mercedes Nav DVD)
I am in Salt Lake so I would end up paying for Steve to come up.....how much are expenses for Steve. You pay for his plane and transport.....what else?
Thanks for the info.

From what the host in Chicago told me, you have to pay for his round trip airfare, pick him up and drop him off at the airport, and provide a place for him to sleep.
Just so you know what airfare will be (approx).greetingz,
