MB Navigation Update Disc

When I ordered my car last winter, I decided I could do without the navigation update option, which from my memory, cost between $280 to ~$560, depending on the number of years of updates (1 to 3 years). I figured that if my navigation got so outdated, I would just bite the bullet at that time and get an updated disc.

So, I get home today and there's a package at the front door from MB. I'm thinking to myself, "wouldn't it be sweet if they sent me an updated navigation disc?" Sure enough, it's an updated version (version 2005.3). What gives? Has anyone else gotten an updated navigation disc without selecting that option on purchase? How has MB handled the update disc for those members who have selected that option?

I also didn't purchase any of the updates but I got the updated disc for my 05. It sounds like just an update for 2005. We'll see if we get any more updates in 2006

I believe it's less a update and more a fix.

I'll worry about an updated disk when they bother to "update" the many missing highways/streets that aren't on my '05 disk despite the fact that the roads in question are over 10 years old. . .

My disk is an 04, as is my car - what is the latest disk currently available from MB? There are many streets over a year old in my neighborhood that are not on my 04 disk - it's funny to see the nav say I'm off-road. OK, maybe not so funny. tia

R. Range... the Cobra has gotten new eyes (smoked headlights) and is getting a Kenny Bell charger it appears, haven't heard what his intention is still with the $7k of suspension on the car currently... I told him I will race my new four door sedan for pinks though... but only in a straight line! Oh yea and thanks for reminding me about your roads and water service... you guys sure do move fast... not sure if you know but I'm originally from the Southern Hills of Missouri... not much out there except corn in a jar from what I remember!

When are they going to allow a search by name? Driving in a new town, try finding a Home Depot or Macys. Can't be done.

marc, got the same disc and bought the car a few months prior to you. not sure what it means, but we'll have to wait and see if they send us anything in 2006. not sure its that valuable anyway.
