what i actually do/my thoughts since everyone is putting their stuff out there::

nightclubs & real estate investment/development/consulting
(if you are ever heading to miami, drop me a line, we know how to have a good time here)

entrepreneurial spirit- always work for yourself if you have the option otherwise you are making money for someone else rather than yourself

if you are not happy doing what you are doing, change it- i'm only 27 but after finishing law school i gave up being an attorney because i know i didn't want to spend 50 hours a week pushing papers for a mediocre return (imo), so the nightlife business was my alternative plus real estate which i have been involved in for a good part of my life

2+ income sources are better than 1- diversify, if you get sick of 1 thing you always have another to fall back on or to excel with. or marry rich, inherit, etc lol.

but in my experience the most important thing is networking, that is what makes my financial world turn

just my thoughts...

That's my plan. I want to own 2 or more businesses later on in life. Nightclubs are in the top 5 businesses I would to get involded in.

Which nightclubs are you involved in? If you dont mind me asking?

You will never make more money than your boss, so be your own boss. Work like a madman, but remember that fully half of your job is to make that job easier to do and in less time. Never "spend" on anything unless there is no option to "invest" in it. Keep investing until you realize that you would have to act like a total fool in order to spend all that you have invested before you die or no longer want to play... now you can spend. Whoever said that accumulating the first million is the hardest and the rest took care of itself was correct, never let your net worth drop below a million. All this is just too simple, boring or time consuming for most people to do. Read this again when you turn 50.

Hey, I might be heading down to the Miami boat show with a friend here soon. Anything to do down there for me (being 19)?

Be your own boss and diversify...I'm a contractor and I also flip houses.

Set a goal...get a clear vision of it...be relentless...you will be there. You then realize that it's time to set a new goal because you always have to stay hungry to stay ahead.

Don't think about the money. Just concentrate on the goal and work towards it. The money will follow on it's own.
I have to agree with you 1million percent! In many of the books that I have read (prior to founding this business) that was a consistent theme, another variation was "strive to do something that HELP's or ASSIST's people in someway FIRST, and then the monetary success will come"

I think the importance of doing something you love will help ease the stress and strife that comes along with commerce of any sort. I also think its important to CHART YOUR OWN COURSE!! I find it very funny that people ask others for their roadmap to success, as if they can simply re-inact it to the letter! I think its important to network and chart your own course.

Great response VRUS

not recently, dealt with some properties in southfields at the polo club in wellington, a house on jupiter island, and some projects in delray that's pretty much it for palm beach- have since been working in the keys/broward/miami-dade areas

it's a very hot area my family is there, some saying prices highly overvalued there, i think there is still a lot of growth going to occur there, prices have been climbing steady and hard- singer island is great for the money, pricey near sailfish marina however

of course just my opinion lol

thats so funny I lived in the polo club last year. I really liked it, I will be back soon. My friend owns a house on fieldview way, the huge polo fields are behind his house. You can see it from the road on southshore and lakeview??? I forgot the other street, it intersects with 441 (there is a publix and burger king at the intersection).

it is a really small world! it's been about 7 years since i have been around there, there were still quite a few lots available, now i don't think that's the case, incredible views of the fields behind those homes in southfields area, huge lots

Yeah most of the lots are gone, there are a few available. My friend built his house himself, he paid $150 (2+ acres) for his lot in 2002, they are asking $500+ for 1 acre lots. Stephanie Seymour lives around the corner, we are always hoping to accidently bump into her

Have you seen Neil Hirsh's house? Not to impressive for $50million(thats what everyone says he paid). I know its because of all the land, but still. I was also not too impressed the the Outback guys house, never been in it but you can see it from a distance. I think that guy who built the castle over in the gated delevopment down the street from kensington still owns it. He built it for something like $6million and was asking $10 or $12 which is crazy, the house in there are pimp but it is the most expensive house in the whole club except Neils(his is a special case). they say its been for sale for 3 years??? I see it in all the florida real estate mags.

Talking Money

Forget luck, especially in investing. I suspect most guys here are over 50. With age and hard work comes money. It also helps to get lucky (LOL). A friend of mine bought a coal company for almost nothing when prices were low. A year later prices rocketed and now he's worth about $500 million!
